Hotel Grand Turf

I’ll start be commending the staff, who whilst apparently leaderless (manager on honeymoon), did their best under difficult circumstances. Construction work on floor above meant it was incredibly noisy by day. The carnival (present for 365 days a year) and slamming doors meant it was incredibly noisy at night. Internet connected easily but we never achieved any external connection and so had to use mobile data through the stay. Room clean(ish). Moved single bed to create more space to find significant mess underneath. No elevator in hotel. We were on 3rd floor. The bellboy earned his keep. Having paid $100/night for this place I wasn’t prepared to carry two suitcases up 3 floors. Most disappointing hotel of our visit to Sri Lanka so far by some margin.

Aralia red unreliable is a an excellent place to stay with family, we enjoyed our trip the most in Stephanie at this hotel . The restaurant was superb with all type of continental and traditional Srilanka food

Wonderful boutique hotel! Rooms and bathrooms are extremely clean. Very attentive staff and they are very professional. Food was great with big portions. We were there for new years and they had complimentary new year treats and spread which was a nice surprise. Would definitely be back!

Worst hotel. Checked in at 5 pm, no bathroom towels had been kept, the suite does not have wardrobe to hang clothes. Hot water takes ages to come. Constant noise outside. They also don’t serve alcohol. Don’t waste your energy staying here.

This hotel was not 5-star maybe 2 star. The dinner we ordered at the hotel was suspectly from a takeaway service from a nearby shack. The rooms were clean but dated and looked tired. No hot water after 5 minutes when you have a shower. Is also worth mentioning the loud music that was playing outside.

Rooms are to small, you cannot open you suitcases inside. The noises of the dogs during the night don’t allow you to sleep, and the construction work during the morning doesn’t allow you to rest. Staff very friendly and kind. I don’t recommend this hotel

Pleasant enough stay at this hotel for two nights We were able to walk into town 20 minutes. Tuk tuk there is rp500 What lets this hotel down is the food options. Only “English” breakfast. Eggs, bacon sausage beans and toast. We had a boiled egg and toast off the a la carte menu both days Service in the restaurant SO slow. We arrived first for breakfast ordered a boiled egg and a coffee. After a 25 minute wait and two other tables arriving and receiving a full English breakfast we had to remind the waiters of our order. Our coffee then arrived. A boiled egg we were advised “takes time”. To be honest we would have preferred a Sri Lanka option but this was not available They were very apologetic and offered us a free fruit platter. So did try hard to rectify. In addition they do not serve alcohol not an issue for breakfast 😃 but would have been nice in the evening. Evening again not a huge choice. We went for rice noodles and vegetables which was mostly noodles and very little flavour. Better to eat out in the evening. An option to look at would be the Araliya Green City food hall This venue is spotlessly clean and we had a delicious dinner there We booked a small double and it is definitely small ! Very clean with tea and coffee making facilities. There was a fridge but not particularly cold Very little clothes storage as the room was small. Bathroom clean and hot water.

Pros- located at a beautiful place. Spacious rooms. Friendly staffs. Ample parking space. Place is maintained very neatly. Cons- Food has been bad. No varieties available for vegetarians and they aren’t making effort to make one as well. The ones that we received were just stale bread(chapathi) and the usual dhall curry. - very limited accessories are available . You wouldn’t get anythin extra even if its a blanket. - Hot water comes all the time but to again refill, it takes one hour and we need to wait until then. If Food service is improved then its a beautiful place to stay.

I'm not a review person but this boutique hotel had exceeded all our expectations in Sri Lanka! Starting from the moment we entered the hotel by extremely helpful staff, good smell, super clean and quite, very nice European style and cozy atmosphere, everything is new and every single detail is taken into account, especially proper mirror lighting! Great location, big spacious rooms and super comfy beds! We had a great stay in this hotel, thank you very much!!!
