MONDI Chalets am Grundlsee

Alles in Allem wunderbar. Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr bemüht. Wir würden wiederkommen.

Beautiful property, however we experienced a poor customer service during check in. We arrived around 1700 hours to the property after a long drive from Germany and they only had one employee doing check ins for the chalets. We waited with no issues and explained we were starving and exhausted and wanted to eat at the property restaurant but we were told the restaurant was full and couldn’t make any exceptions. The employee did not offer any help to look for you’re restaurants around whatsoever, we had to ask her and make the phone calls ourselves even though we didn’t speak German. Also, she never took the time to explain anything about the property, its ammenities and surrounding attractions. Very disappointing for such an expensive place.

The location of MONDI in Grundlsee is very convenient - we took a day trip to Hallstatt which was just 30 minutes drive, and another day we drove the panoramic route to Loser Altaussee. The MONDI resort staff were very welcoming and friendly - my husband and I are American and English speaking and the staff was always quick to accommodate with a smile. We enjoyed the spa / wellness area each day during our stay - while the steam bath was out of service, we still were able to use the 3 other saunas and the pool. The food was exceptional as well - from breakfast to dinner, we left satisfied and pleased with each meal. They offer a seasonal venison menu and we loved trying new things we don't normally get to eat! The chalets themselves are so charming - our studio had a mini kitchen, supplied with utensils, dishes, and cookware, and a good size refrigerator. The heated floor in the bathroom was awesome, too! Can't say enough great things about our stay.

The spa opens at 1:00pm each day, with the exception of a couple of ladies only mornings that begin at 10am-1pm. We would have liked to have had the chance to go to the spa for a sauna in the morning and then have a second session in the afternoon or evening.

Excellent location, helpful staff, very good breakfast and dinner.

Cleaning service possibly every three days, thus without any service during our accomodation with 3 nights. Wellness small for such resort, without any supervision, some guests were probably in the sauna for the first time in their life. View from rooms 1-5 on the dumpters and technical buildings. Common balcony and smoking and loud guests at the building close to the reception. In summary - unbalanced: some services excellent, some very poor for such money.
