Taitung Ohana Sky Hostel

Everything! Just like the other reviews say, this place is special. Location is close to the train and bus station (but not the city - indeed, no hostels are. The government changed this apparently). Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are large, refrigerator is stocked with drinks (+ instant noodles) with an honesty system. Towel rental is free, hair dryers in the dorms. But the gem of this hostel is the family that owns it. They're so sweet, and speak good English. From helping plan your days in Taitung, to encouraging group conversations in the common room, ordering food for you - they make this place amazing. I would've stayed in Taitung longer just to stay here if I didn't have my trip planned. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well one day and they checked on her regularly throughout the day. She felt very loved! Wonderful hostel. They have had a journey too: they used to be in Taitung centre, then had to move and build their hostel from scratch. Many of the facilities are actually built by the dad! They have a photobook documenting their story. Very cute.

I didn't 'dislike' it, but my only slight improvement would be curtains on the bed.

the hosts were so accommodating and really made it feel like a home. I have so much love for them, and really are great people to spend time with and have good conversations with. I really appreciate the time I spent with them, and are probably one of the main reasons why I would want to come back to Taiwan. 10/10 and would recommend to stay there any day of the week, also a bonus is that it’s so close to the train station so it takes no time to get there! Thank you for being so kind :)

Bring some time if you stay with these lovely couple. The facility is nice, clean and has anything you need. They will make sure that you feel welcome and adopt you right away in their family. The hospitality is truly outstanding! If you need darkness to get some proper sleep, bring a sleeping mask with you.

I do love this lovely place.The owner XiBa & XiMa are warm and friendly.Just like stay in your friend's place You guys talk laugh and share life experience together.Now I know why OHANA can get 9.8 scores. Because it deserved. Anyway I extend my stay here. Coz here is cozy and comfortable.

Iv traveled for 7 month by now in asia This is the most special and home feeling iv been by far From the moment you step the door your part of the ohana (wich means family) Couldnt recomend for a better place to stay all over the world probebly Thanks to shimba and shima people there feel like its thiere actuall home and keep going back Might be the main reason for me to visit taiwan again as well❤️(:
