Copper Lantern Motor Lodge

It is rare I write a review while I’m still staying at a location…even more rare to write a negative review while I’m still staying somewhere but I have to! It is so freaking hot in my lovely room but I may have to be hospitalized by morning! When I arrived about 4 hours ago it was hotter in this room than it was outside…and outside was 98! The AC was off and the curtains were open with the sun cooking the room! I immediately closed the curtains and put the temp on the AC down to 60! It is still brutally hot in here at 10 PM! Sweat is soaking the pillow…there is no relief even with only a sheet over me and a cold wash cloth on my forehead and wrists! The room is lovely…though the area above the AC needs a little work! It is clean and quiet! The staff was very helpful and I would come again…if it was a cooler day or the management could turn on the AC and close the curtains a few hours before the guests arrived! Too freaking hot! I want my money back because there is no way I’ll be able to sleep in this heat!!

Clean, friendly, wonderful property with field down to small river.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Not fancy, but clean, comfortable, and completely adequate for my overnight with my dog before an event. Bed was clean and comfy, and the room opened out onto a big field with a river view. Thank you for being a clean, comfy reasonably priced pet friendly place to stay.

The beds weren't very comfortable.

TRULY A HIDDEN GEM! Not fancy. Just clean, quiet (can't hear your neighbors!), and well-appointed rooms. The beds are super comfy. ALL amenities work great, including the large-screen TV which has a fabulous selection of cable channels - the best that we've experienced in this area. And, the WiFi is super quick. We loved watching a variety of birds who were singing and flitting between the surrounding meadows and the Quaboag River. Our dog loved her long walks down the lane, around the lawn, and along the riverbanks. The family who runs the Copper Lantern is warm and VERY responsive and wants you to feel right at home. We LOVE it here, and plan to return time and time again.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, beautiful riverside setting.

The coffee situation -- tiny pads of coffee for brewing in the flimsiest imaginable plastic contraption (below even Temu standards) and creamer packets that held only a dusting of powder -- was nothing short of tragic. Head for the Country Store, just down the road. The Copper Lantern road sign needs replacing. Our hearts sank when we noticed its faded, weather-beaten condition and the piece of tape covering up an erstwhile offer of "weekly" rates. This was a grim welcome to what turned out to be a perfectly decent motel.

Location was convenient. They allowed pets.

Television remote didn’t work, AC was noisy and looked dirty. Carpet was old and worn. Exterior of property was cluttered and there was no landscaping. I was expecting a higher level of renovation for the price I paid.

Smelled funny, tired place…

Loved the back exit to the river. So peaceful and pretty.
