"Comfortable and serene "

Loved this quiet, serene lodge with large patio overlooking the great outdoors set in acres of fields and trees. The lodge itself is nice, comfortable and spacious with king bed on raised level from couch and kitchenette. Lovely family run business.

"Serene and peaceful"

10.0

The parking for our cabin was up on the hill, and the gravelled steps were difficult to manage at night, as there was insufficient lighting, I had to walk very slow, no handrails. Apart from that it is a beautiful cabin, just like the photos show. The cabin is very well appointed, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"A Cooktown Beauty"

10.0

We loved our 3night stay at Milkwood Lodge. Our check in was fast and friendly. The pool, bbq and fire pit area was small but inviting. Each pole house was very private with balcony and outside furniture, which was a pleasant place to sit in the morning, planning the day's activities. The cabin had space and everything we needed. King size bed, quality linen and toiletries. A very / workable kitchenette snd small lounge/dining area. Above all, the owners and staff were very helpful. As we're travelling for a while, the use of a washing machine and line was useful to deal with the mundane side of things. We really enjoyed our short trip to Cooktown. We'd travelled up via the Bloomfield Track from Cape Trib, stopping by at The Lions Den and Black Mountain on the way. The James Cook Museum, Monument, Esplanade, Grassy Hill Loookout, Botanic Gardens, Finch Bay, Archer Point and Lighthouse, Keatings Lagoon, fishing off the old bridge st Annan River. Wow, what a blast. What's not to like!!

the greeting by Sharon was very friendly, she was very informative and helpful. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble to ensure that our stay was memorable. If you are cooking chips on the BBQ watch out for hungry staff

We loved the how the accommodation was nestled in the rainforest with balconies to observe the abundance of large butterflies and birdlife from bush turkeys and resident peacocks and bonus was it was only 5 mins from town. The kids loved it.

"Birds singing every morning"

The king bed was very comfortable with high quality sheets. Thoughtful touches, the air con was on when we arrived so the unit was cool. The kitchen was well equipped. The balcony was private it felt as if we were the only guests. The pool was refreshing and the BBQ was ready for use. Wifi did not exist in the cabin, however the signal was strong at the BBQ area. You must take into consideration the location when judging the wifi signal strength.
