Hallgarter Zange

Eine Übernachtung der besonderen Art mit einem tollen Ausblick aus dem Turmzimmer. Schon bei der Anfahrt durch den Wald ließen wir unseren Alltag hinter uns. Nachts totale Ruhe, nur die Windgeistern waren zu hören . Tolles , reichliches, schön angerichtetes Frühstück.

Das ist kein normales Hotel, sondern etwas Besonderes, das man mögen oder sehr schlecht finden kann. Ein ehemaliger Aussichtsturm, in den man sechs Zimmer eingebaut hat. Der Turm steht auf einem der höchsten Gipfel des Rheingaugebirges ganz allein im Wald. Die Anfahrt geht lange durch den Wald, man ist von allem weit weg. Ist das nun eine gute oder ein schlechte Lage. Nach 18.00 Uhr ist niemand mehr da, dafür bekommt man den Schlüssel zum Gastraum, kann sich bei allem frei bedienen, Champagner, Sekt, die Weine des eigenen Weinguts, etc. und stört dabei niemanden. Und hat es gut gefallen, aber sicherlich alles recht unkonventionell.

Es wird noch an weiteren Zimmern gebaut. Teilweise daher ein wenig Baustellencharme. Betten waren nicht ganz so bequem und recht klein.

Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of cold meat and cheeses fresh bread and pastries, fruit and spreads. Sparkling wine was on offer and tea coffee and orange juice all great. €25 per person per day is a high price however. Beds are comfortable and bedding clean and high quality. Tea and coffee making in the room worked well. The stone tower is a striking feature and gives the rooms their unique character.

Shower ran hot and cold. Electrics in room hard to fathom. Outside space needs further work and maintenance Access Road is long, windy and very uneven. We used taxis extensively which was moderately expensive. <

Außergewöhnliche Lage, spektakuläre Zimmer, sehr freundliche Kommunikation

Das Hotel war überhaupt nicht geöffnet. Unglaublich das man es überhaupt Buchen konnte für 140€ die Nacht. Anfahrt durch einen Wald über Schotterpisten. Dabei noch das Auto beschädigt.

Unusual little hotel with a beautiful overlook over a large stretch of Rhine river. It is located in the forest, and you have to take an unpaved road to get there. It is a perfect place for hiking and checking the remnants of Rheingauer Gebück, as well as for private events.

Was so quiet we could not believe it . And there was a full moon . Good to get away from it all Staff delightful . Slow internet so enjoy the peacefulness. Great breakfast! Had a shower head malfunction but we fixed ourselves. Would have liked a few more signs on road to get there. Not all rooms have kitchen or Cabnets . Need to let owner know if can’t do stairs .( 4 people master in loft with attic stairs )

If you have a family and you love German wine, I want to recommend this accommodation. It is located on top of hills, you can enjoy nice view with Rhien-river. I requested to take a dinner and breakfast, these were perfect and they provided warm hospitality. They have own winery, the guest can enjoy good quality wine in there. The building has a lift.
