Karungi Camp

Sylvierirera was the best and friendliest person on our 4 week trip in Tanzania/Uganda. She was very accommodating and infected us with her good mood.We would also like to thank our friend Gordon who helped us with all our rain and activities. 🙏🏾

A great spot on the edge of town. Nice place to relax after your exertions in the forest! Staff were great and the manager set me up with a great gorilla trek. He seems to be 'the man' to arrange tours for the area.

Everything! The staff is remarkable. The community involvement is amazing. They go out of the way to help. The food was top notch. Room was good. Shower hot and strong. But really the people make this place.

Can get a bit noisy as you are close to the village. But that is part of the experience.

Unfortunately you only can pay in cash there, also the permit for the gorilla was only in cash and they even charged 50 Usd more as an extra fee.

We really enjoyed being at karungi camp! The staff is super friendly, helping out and the food is just delicious! In the evening we played games together which was so fun! We did the gorilla trekking at Rushaga and it was just perfect! Gordy helped us out getting everything settled for that. Even if your not doing the trekking we highly recommend that place! The area is really nice and the community has a lot of important and interesting projects going on, wich were impressive to see!

Beautiful region in close distance to the Bwindi Park. Excellent breakfast and dinner provided by young chef and the friendly staff.
