Dartmoor Barn on North Hessary Tor

The property was very clean, it had the required utensils and overall a great place. It was in a great location, nestled deep into dartmoor, but not to iscolating. Closest supermarket was about a 20 minute drive. The walks and views were fantastic, and overall the stay was great.

Close to Tavistock but in Dartmoor National Park so ideal for walks with our puppy. The property was clean and comfortable in a lovely setting with beautiful views and with its own fenced garden

Views and location perfect!

The location was AMAZING - beautiful views (especially at sunset), quiet, in the middle of our hosts’ farm and right next to Foggintor Quarry! We visited in mid October with our dog. Our hosts were friendly and everything was super clean and tidy when we arrived. Towels, utensils, pots & pans, portable heaters & fans, mugs, plates, etc. were all provided (there was even a piano!). The kitchen came with a dishwasher & washing machine (with dishwasher tablets and washing powder all included) as well as a fridge and freezer. Wi-fi was great, TV had freeview, loads of DVDs, as well as things like Channel 4 on demand & Netflix etc. It was around 15-18 degrees celsius when we visited so we thought it might be cold inside the property but it was well insulated and the fireplace kept the whole property warm. All in all, it was a great stay and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Absolutely nothing wrong with the property itself. However, one thing to bare in mind about the area - it was particularly foggy at night (especially in October) and as someone who isn’t accustomed to driving in foggy conditions on long & farm country roads, it was fairly dangerous - especially with animals often appearing in the middle of the road!
