D07 - Torraltinha Villa in Lagos

Incredible house, very well located and in a very quiet area.

Communication was clear and they were accommodating.

Streets of Lagos were a bit difficult to navigate to get to the office, and the fee to check in after 7 p.m. was really pricey, especially for us coming from a 3rd world country.

Nice apartment with everything you need.

The outdoor area was a real treat. The Villa is spacious and comfortable and walking distance to the beaches and old quarter

Spacious villa.

Spacious villa, let down by lack of hygiene/maintenance. After three days we each caught a sickness bug. Having spotted cockroaches at night in the kitchen and both bathrooms we bought lots of cleaning products and bleach and cleaned the property fully. On closer inspection we found cockroach droppings at the back of all the kitchen surfaces. Having cleaned the property we recovered enough to make the return trip, much to our relief. We effectively lost half of our collective holiday to illness, caused by this lack of basic hygiene. Upon arrival we were advised that cleaning was still in progress so we would need to wait a further hour to access the property, though on arrival at that time the one lady present was still busy cleaning. We considered that the was no way that one person could adequately clean such a large property on their own between lettings. Much of the property was not clean when we were able to access the villa and we spent some time later washing kitchen utensils before using them. The purpose of this review is to advise the owner and Dream Algarve of these shortcomings, which may hopefully help you to ensure future holiday makers do not suffer this fate. Proper cleaning resource between lettings and on site cleaning products would seem obvious, as a minimum. One star, as the lack of hygiene would have led to the hospitalisation of more frail travellers.
