Relax Inn Vinita

After an exhausting day at Grand Lake I looked at a map and saw 3-4 small towns around and was sent to Vinita by word of mouth by one of my coworkers. Decently small town. Driving through I remember talking to my wife looking at all the small motels surrounding one outrageously expensive Holiday Inn. I didn't have the pretty penny so we went on a little 2 minute tour of this small town and went through the whole thing and saw the Relax Inn. Definitely the best for the price, if you want better, pay the little extra and go to Holiday Inn but this one here had new carpet, beds, FRESH PAINT!!!! Rated it only 4 out of 5 because of the parking lot, its spacious but with my boat attached to my trailer I was paranoid and there was a ton of sound coming outside (turned out to be construction workers who were friendly). I recommend this place and giving it a try rather than alternative motels who rent by the week or... (month????). Manager is the kind of guy to remember faces and have a conversation with. 4/5.

Was headed on my way to St. Lious and had to make a unexpected stop at night and stayed here. The rooms were clean and desk clerk made everything easy for me to do. I would recommend this place to anybody on a budget, not as nice as larger hotels but pretty close!!

My original plans were to go see family in Joplin but after a long day of dealing with my car being a pain I decided to call it a night and just take the loss on this one. I was on a budget so decided to look for the next best thing rather than a Holiday Inn Express, so driving down the road I stopped at the Relax Inn where it looked way more appealing than the other motels in town. At first glance the sign and red doors convinced me to pull in. I went in the office and was surprised to see that the room costed me under 50 dollars after the kind staff even let me see a room before renting it! I can be a little picky at times but for sure have to say this motel is a steal for the price, I would recommend to all looking for a comfortable night in this small town. Had no issues whatsoever and got up comfortably and left!

Stayed here to have a weekend trip at grand lake but my room was reasonably priced and pretty clean. Town was super close to the lake and everybody was super friendly. Front desk was polite and recommended a restaurant that was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! I recommend this for others who need a decently priced place to stay

Stayed here Sunday night 9/13/15. It is am older motel that looks like it has been remodeled by DYI'er. Clean room, no Bugs. Smoke detector had the batteries out and stuck in a drawer. There was a dark burgundy wall with a wallpaper border. The Towels were very nice though. Thick and White and pleanty for 2 people. If you read any of my other reviews, we always try to stay under $50 for a one night stop over and this was 48.00 for 2 .

Carpet replaced since photos I see. The panel in my room painted with border. If just a comfy place to rest and no pool or extras needed, this was just perfect. Clean, And young lady was extra helpful as I am medically disabled.

Horrible. Nasty dirty the owner is rude and they have bed bugs save ur money and go somewhere else I got chewed up the health department blocked the room off and he was still rude and no refund go somewhere else worth ur money

Usually write my motel reviews the next day after we have checked out but this time I am writing it in the evening when I can sit here and look around the room. Chose this motel based on a Rt66 Dining and Lodging guide. Will recommend to the guide that this listing be dropped. Bed is comfortable but is held up on base by boards that are sticking out to the sides. Great shin buster! Also bed is way to close to the front wall. Could easily have been located farther from the wall and the nightstand put on the other side of the bed. The main counter would work fine for a nightstand on the other side. Telephone is a cheap phone hung up on the wall right by the door. Door has card key with deadbolt, but there is no safety lock as in most places. Doors, windows and walls are so thin that there is basically no sound barrier to car and train noise. Locate right at a curve in the road so it sounds like the traffic goes right around the back of the motel too. Air Conditioner is a cheap, thru the wall style which lets the noise come right thru it also. TV, Microwave and Refrigerator are like new and OK. I opened what appeared to be a closet and found a gas water heater in there. Will probably be roaring in the morning when everyone is taking showers. We should have hot water as it is located right next to our shower. That is unless it is only for the manager's unit which is right next door. Portable clothes rack in the room and no suitcase stand. Bathroom is something else. Floor was wet as I discovered when I walked in to the bathroom in my stocking feet. Manager/owner couldn't find the source of the water. Already all unpacked so we didn't want to have to move to anther room. So small that one person couldn't be standing in front of the sink and another get by to get in the shower. No place for toiletry items other than the top of the toilet. To sit on the toilet, you just about have to have the bathroom door open. That's OK as the bathroom door won't close anyway. Place just looks dingy. Painted over paneling on the walls and very aged carpet. Typical 50's motel but not up to the standards of modern day travelers. As in most motels, very lacking in wall outlets. I think we may be the only travelers here tonight; nostly work vehicles out front. Front desk was OK at check-in. Last time here!

Dirty, old not taken care of. Walls were warped from water damage. Swimming pool closed. We asked for 2 beds (for two ppl) there was three in room. One bed was too cold so switched to another bed. The charged $15.00 because they're was 3 people and not 2. Not the case!!! Handles in bathroom did not turn properly, difficult to adjust water temp.

Desk clerk was friendly and helpful, room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We travel alot and this was one of the better bargain motels we have stayed at. I will definitely write this down on my list if places to stay again
