the location and the owners were wonderful

Lovely country home in stunning location of UNESCO hills... Vines for miles! Wonderfully peaceful and situated five minutes from Mombaruzzo, ten minutes away from buzzy Nizza, among many, many other beautiful hilltop towns. Even with the rainy, foggy weather the area is breathtaking. We stayed at Laficaia for two nights as we were visiting the area to buy a home. The famous Berta distillery is across the road in Casaletto, a lovely village. Mauro and his wife are so nice and very helpful. We had some entertaining conversations with our pigeon Italian. The family gifted us their Sbarbato wine, made by their son Enrico... Seriously, so good! We hope to see you again,when we return in 2023 - Buon Natale, grazie mille!

Nothing to dislike!

Wunderschön hochwertig renoviertes ehemaliges Weingut. Die Besitzerfamilie kümmert sich persönlich um das Wohlergehen des Gastes. Äußerst sauber und ruhig. Das gesamte Areal sehr gepflegt. Wir wurden begrüßt vom Vater des Besitzers, er hat unser Gepäck hochgetragen. Ausblick auf die umgebenden Hügel, das Frühstück wurde uns auf der Terrasse serviert nach unseren persönlichen Wünschen und fein zubereitet. Erholung pur in der Langhe

Well, where to begin ... Mauro and his family - the owners of the Resort La Ficaia - are simply exquisite people. As a good Italian, I would call them the expression of “Italianness in its purest state”: selfless, kind, friendly, sympathetic, generous, flexible. And I am sure that those who have been lucky enough to stay at the resort "La Ficaia" are already thinking that there are other qualities to point out that I have forgotten. Mauro first greeted us at check in, helped us with our luggage, helped us find a good late-night restaurant - fantastic by the way - in the Nizza Monferrato region - despite the fact that most were closed. He gave us some advice right away, phoning restaurants himself. La Ficaia - pure tranquility, a completely renovated farmhouse, surrounded by greenery, with a few but spacious rooms, all super-equipped and fully renovated, with breathtaking views of the adjacent hills, with a beautiful wooded garden and an exclusive pool. Breakfast - for someone like me used to a coffee and a glass of water ... well, I had to change my mind. A fantastic … gorgeously organized breakfast with local products. The motto here is “take your time, make yourself at home”. What a pleasure to enjoy! And if you would like to combine your stay with a visit to the La Ficaia wineries with wine tasting and purchase, for example… then you are in the right place. In short, if you are looking for a place to stay well with your family, not crowded and where you will feel at home from the first day, to relax and recharge your batteries - maybe even thinking about some nice bike rides in the beautiful decor of Piedmont - well, then La Ficaia is the place for you. I can only strongly recommend a stay here!

Spotless

The view is great and the house, rooms, pool and garden are very well-tended. We enjoyed the wine tasting & breakfast a lot and Mauro is a very kind and helpful host.

Everything. Everything was to like! The space is beautiful, overlooking acres of vineyards. The hotel itself is amazing, I have zero complaints. The hosts were phenomenal, offering us a beautiful breakfast every morning. Food and drink was fresh as ever.
