Holiday Inn Express Durango Downtown- Animas River

We are IHG members and I decided to splurge on a riverfront room here with points and cash. It was not inexpensive. The view was nice, and we were able to watch rafters and paddle boarders go by. It is not in the heart of downtown, and you have to cross a multi-lane highway to get to Historic Durango. There is a traffic light two blocks down, making it easier. The rooms are nice, and the breakfast area was large and offered great selections. We were happy with the room. When I was reading reviews for this hotel, someone noted if you parked in the underground garage, they charge you $5 per day. Well, we parked out front, and were still charged $5 per day. We also got charged $5 per day for "Green Energy Fee." I don't know what that is, and maybe Colorado requires that, but I hate when a hotel nickels and dimes you when you've already paid a substantial amount for the room.

J'ai du commander un Uber en dernier recours. si vôtre chambre est du côté rue, assez bruyant car rue assez passagère : demander chambre côté Animas River climatisation très bruyante mais pouvant être coupée

Really liked this hotel. We found the rooms spacious and clean and the location was great. We could walk to the train, the main reason we were in Durango, and also to Main Street where there were lots of restaurant options. In addition we had a room with a balcony that looked over the Animas river and enjoyed sitting out there. And a path along the river was easily accessible from the hotel so we were able to enjoy walking along it. Would definitely stay here if we ever come back to Durango.
