Ourguest Camp Lachung

The property has 3 tents. We were a couple and were given a queen sized bed, room heater (very helpful), private washroom - neatly maintained. This property in Lachung has great views of snow filled mountains, has a river flowing next to it (just a 10mins downhill walk). We visited during the pleasant summer month, May. It was not so cold as it would usually be, but went cooler at nights. The heater was very helpful. The power went on and off few times for long durations due to the rains, but they switched on generators upon requests multiple times as needed. Raju served us with great meals for the two days we stayed. The meals were tasty and very well prepared per our palette.

One issue i faced is the stray dogs - they kept barking all through the night. Nothing that the property guys could do though.

There was only one man who is doing everything like cooking, house keeping and everything so sometimes i found him making excuses for preparing multiple cuisine.

Well, almost everything - location, staff, ambience. The caretaker, Mr Raj Rai, is an exceptionally helpful and resourceful gentleman, and not to forget, a great cook. He ensured we were very comfortable in every way.

Nothing really. The only problem faced was the power situation. After the dam burst of Oct '23, electricity situatuon in the region is poor at best. Understandable, considering the remote location. But the area is cold and room heating is essential for a comfortable stay. But that too was resolved with a talk with the owner.

View from hotel was amazing 😍, very clean rooms and all facilities were available, staff was also very friendly.
