Leopard Safaris Yala

The staff were extremely friendly and had high standards of service and excellent attention to detail. They were very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfy and stylish. The food was the best we had during our trip.

The monkey didn’t be or pester us at all, but if you don’t like wild animals, give it a miss.

The room! It was so lovely! The whole experience in general to be honest was great.

Lovely rooms set in natural bush surroundings. Loved the outdoor shower and the bed was comfortable. Staff were great and food was plentiful. Safaris were good and our driver did his best mad max style to get us a great view of the leopard we saw. It was absolute chaos but he did well. No complaints and a great way to see Yala.

The short dirt road to the property was in terrible condition, given it seemed like a private road shared by a few properties filling in the potholes could have been easily achieved. No coffee or tea supplied in the morning safaris, snacks provided could be improved both day and night. A few biscuits and a bananas probably not cutting it for the price.

La struttura è più bella dal vivo che in foto , il personale molto gentile. L'ambiente estremamente piacevole . La responsabile Cecile , che non ho avuto la fortuna di incontrare è stata sempre estremamente disponibile via whatsapp , risolvendo ogni situazione prontamente e con gentilezza . La nostra guida per il safari è stato Sam , molto simpatico e disponibile .

Forse avrei gradito per il secondo safari vedere anche un'altra parte del parco , ma è un dettaglio !

A wonderful boutique stay but has a real feel of being in the jungle/bush! We had a lovely stay, dining under the stars and speaking with the owner as well as two amazing gam drives where we saw pretty much every wildlife possible!

The drives to get in to Yala National Park are a bit far, but that’s the benefit of it being quieter :)

Bala and the team were amazing and made the stay. A great boutique luxe resort on a strong march to sustainability. Food was amazing. The safari's were excellent. Thanks. We'll be back with our families. ❤️

Die Lodge ist wunderschön und sehr toll gestaltet. Alles was sauber und ordentlich.Mein Zelt war sehr komfortabel und vor allem das Bad mit dem Außenbereich ist sehr schön gemacht. Nach der Safari habe ich, trotzdem es schon sehr spät war, ein sehr gutes Frühstück bekommen mit frischen Früchten und einem sehr guten Omelette, Toast… Das Abendessen war auch lecker und eine gute Auswahl.

Der Preis ist trotz der schönen Anlage viel zu hoch. Man merkt richtig, dass diese Lodge rein auf Profit gemanaged wird. Man merkt auch eine Anspannung beim Personal. Bis man beim Eingang des Nationalparks ist, dauert es relativ lange. Die Safari, die bei der Übernachtung inkludiert war, hat sich nicht rentiert. Die Guides waren rein fokussiert darauf, dass wir einen Leoparden finden. Die Safari artete so zu einem Stress aus. Wir sind die ganze Zeit wie irre durch den Nationalpark gefahren, es gab kaum Informationen zu den anderen Tieren und auch kaum Zeit, mal stehen zu bleiben und andere Tiere zu beobachten. Sehr schade, denn ich hab schon viele Safaris gemacht und das war mit Abstand die schlechteste. Ich würde es aber nicht den Guides zuordnen, sondern eher dem Druck, der vom Management gemacht wird, das unbedingt Leoparden gesichtet werden müssen. Unter dem Aspekt, dass man auch einen hohen Preis für die nachhaltige Camp Führung zahlt, empfinde ich das als das falsche Vorgehen. Alle Tiere sind schön und können interessant sein. Auch wenn es toll ist eine Leoparden zu sehen ist es kein Muss in der Natur. Ich habe für den nächsten Tag daher selber eine Safari organisiert. Im Camp hat man mich sehr klar spüren lassen, dass es ihnen nicht gepasst hat. Daher würde ich für diesen Preis die Lodge nicht mehr buchen.

The room was comfortable

Unfortunately, we left Leopard Safari quite disappointed with several aspects of our stay. While all of the staff were friendly and welcoming, there were many shortcomings that, in our view, are simply not acceptable given the price of over US$500 per night. For that rate, we expected a much higher level of quality and attention to detail. First, the food, although decent, was far below the standard one would expect at this price point. There was no menu or choice, and we ended up eating almost the same meal two nights in a row, which is not at all acceptable. Breakfast, in particular, was the simplest and least appealing we have had since arriving in Sri Lanka. Considering that Leopard Safari is by far the most expensive place we stayed, this was a real disappointment. Additionally, our room was not made up while we were on safari, and housekeeping was only done during dinner. This is not in line with what we would expect from a property of this cost and supposed standard. Beyond that, the overall experience felt far from relaxing. Throughout our stay, we often felt “watched” and were repeatedly interrupted for questions that could easily have been addressed at another time. This constant intrusion made it difficult to enjoy the tranquility of the lodge, which is unfortunate given its otherwise peaceful setting. To be clear, our criticism is not directed toward the staff, who were kind and hardworking, but toward the management and overall experience, which in our opinion does not justify the extremely high price being charged. We hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to make meaningful improvements.

The camp is setup well and should be a lot more enjoyable than it is. The food while all very local and basic was amazing and the guides and general staff were lovely and accommodating.

Advertised as luxury rooms, they were not remade daily or given turn downs in the evening. We had someone come in once during 3 days to change towels and make the bed. Food and service was very nice however for what you pay versus what you get for the price in Sri Lanka is extreme. Advertised as all inclusive but they very much make you feel like you can only have things when offered at certain times. Camp manager was very controlling of times and what people were doing and also appeared to micromanage the rest of the staff so they seemed rightfully abit unhappy. Game drives were nice but we saw very little during the hours we spent in the park.

Superb rooms and food. Staff went above and beyond to make this stay unforgettable . Special mention to Noel and Don for making us feel so welcome. We saw every animal possible including leopards and sloth bears. The best was that the company is so respectful of the wildlife that they refused to embark on mad chases with the other jeeps to try and find animals . Don and Dilip used their expert knowledge to seek out animals without intruding on them . The hotel is the best safari lodge we have ever stayed in .
