I can tell that the owners of this property are trying to update and improve the accommodations of this lodging. The furniture, updated kitchenette & bathroom, and cheerful paint are all inviting at first glance. For us (one of us being 6' 5") the furniture was to small. The bed was very soft and the headboard felt as if it were downhill. We stayed during a very hot stretch of the summer. The room was significantly warmer than the outdoors in the evening, however, it was not possible to get airflow through the unit without also exposing ourselves to the other groups on the property by having our door open. I wish the owners of this property success and hope that the feedback is helpful.

Stayed in the detached micro-house adjacent to the motel section of the resort. The Micro-house was clearly a converted Trailer, that suffered from odd design choices, and deferred maintenance. I was also less then pleased with on-sites maintenance choice to weed-whack at 9PM on a weeknight.

"Would book again!"

The bungalow was very nice and clean! The only complaint I had was that the couch in the living room was not very supportive. The bed was very comfortable though!

We loved our first night. Unfortunately the next morning. They started to work right next to our bungalow. We were woken up at 8 am with loud gravel banging and rock sounds. I had a zoom meeting that was so loud that I had to be on mute for most of the meeting. They were kind of enough to let me use the Admin. Login for the meeting, but it was not very successful due to the loud back ground noise.

"Cute Bungalow"

10.0

Great work on remodeling the bungalows! Love the rustic design and comfortable bed! However the pullout bed (love seat to floor cushion) wasn't too comfortable for the kids (12 & 14 yr old), maybe okay for smaller kids. We will probably outgrow the bungalow by next year. I would also add screens on the windows so can have it open all the time. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

"Growing Pains"

I was excited to go to Pacific Dunes for my B-Day. We stayed in a canvas tent which was set up perfect. The manager is very helpful. The drawbacks. It just opened. Bathroom is not completed yet. No sink in the women's bathroom and no hot water. The site needs a little work to be paying $200 a night. You expect a little more. Having a working women bathroom is a must. You need water while you are staying in a tent. Especially during the Coronavirus. Another huge problem, the stove in the canvas tent was not installed correctly. I woke up the first night gasping for air. My throat burned, and the smell was toxic. Since it was late I couldn't see that the whole tent was filled with black smoke. Until I turned on my light on my phone. I opened up all the screen windows and screen front door. I had a 9 year old with me so I was scared he got smoke inhalation. He has been complaining about a sore throat for a week now. When I spoke to the manager she said they knew the stove was installed wrong. BUT when she checked us in she showed us how to use it (never mentioned that it was installed incorrectly). This is the first month they have been open. I am guessing all the kinks will be worked out soon. I do plan on going back, I loved the location and the manager was wonderful. Almost dying of smoke inhalation was miserable! BUT hoping they fix it!

I believe this property recently changed ownership. I don’t want to be to harsh as it’s clear they are making a number of improvements throughout the property. The good: location was great, the bed in the glamping tent was comfortable, and the property manager was friendly. The bad: the wood burning stove did not have metal pipe all the way to the exhaust and the glamping tent started to smoke in a huge way, the quiet hours starting at 10p we’re not enforced, there is not a direct path to the beach as advertised, and the bathroom house was horrible (they were remodeling the women’s side so my guess is this is being addressed), and the electrical was via an extension cord. The lights flickered a couple times which leads me to believe the circuit was overloaded. I can’t imagine this is up to code. Recommendation is to wait 30 or so days and then give it a try. We’ll probably check this property out again next summer.
