Esthetics were amazing. Well supplied kitchen and bathrooms. Onsen! Washer/dryer was fabulous and much appreciated. Air conditioners worked well. Location is in a lovely neighborhood close to shops, restaurants, and train.

There wasn’t enough comfortable seating - just one leather chair. I recognize a small couch might not work with the esthetic but not having enough comfortable seating caused everyone to retreat to their beds to relax.

Beautiful place with great location . Very quiet and with that close to everything that you will need. The maintained team was very helpful in the first day.

For tall people - a bit difficult as everything is very low. Also, lighting is beautiful but very low. In some cases it would have been great to have some more light especially in the kitchen

The appartement was in a very nice neighborhood, not on the area of the center of Kyoto, but 10 minutes by walking. All main sightseeing was more than ½ a hour away. It was very clean and provided all needed hotel amenities.

Unfortunately, as we stayed there on March, the ground floor never got warm. Because of the poor quality of the window (as it is an old traditional type of house) the cold air could get through. As a result, we couldn’t enjoy the ground floor at all, we were basically freezing and shivering. All doors and several parts of the ceiling were very low and the men that where more than 1.90m high bumped their heads all the time. THE BATHROOM OF THE GROUND FLOOR WAS COLD AS A FRIDGE! It was sooo difficult to take a shower and pee in it. Also due to the poor quality of the window, every mooring we woke up from the noises of the road. We sincerely regret the money we gave.

The authentic experience of this property was exactly what we wanted and it had everything we needed and more.

Being an original home, the glass and doors were not very insulating so even with heaters on it was cold but it didn’t ruin our stay, we just rugged up.

How authentic this place felt, while still being modern

Very nicely maintained rustic atmosphere. We really dug the vibe of the house. The outdoor bath tub was awesome! I used it several times and it made for very memorable mornings in what seemed like a dream setting. The air conditioning units were adequate for controlling the temperature of the house to our needs. The washer/dryer was also a life saver as this stay was halfway through out trip across Japan and we really needed to refresh our clothes. There were several convenience stores in close proximity that met most of our needs for quick food. Also at least one nice breakfast/coffee shop nearby too. Even the local Uber driver that dropped us off was impressed with the house while he was helping us with our bags.

The location, many restaurants close and neighborhood is nice

during the peak hot wave in September (36C- 40C), the two air conditioners were not sufficient. And the AC of the main room on the second floor was not enough. So we had to sleep on the first floor under the other ac.

The location was great. Lots of local restaurants.

Low clearance on several doorways made me hit my head repeatedly.
