Good location near Hwaseong Fortress

You cannot fault the location of Sun Star, it really couldn’t be better, there is a fabulous coffee shop ‘Wooded’ next door the hand made pies and coffee were the best I had in Korea and it was interesting people watching on a Saturday afternoon , a visitor centre and of course the fortress wall just steps away. Many restaurants nearby (as long as you eat around 6pm). It’s basic and one of our rooms smelt really strongly of cigarette smoke but for a night we slept comfortably. During our road trip of South Korea this was the only place we had 2 pillows and could control the air conditioning. Toiletries all provided, some parking available which the man operating took care of, so we had to warn him via Google translate we would be leaving early so he could get the cars out to free ours (it’s in the old part obviously so he has to park in a tetras arrangement 🤣)

This isn’t a tourist hotel, as westerners we found the rooms a little odd and just the general vibe was ‘different’. There was no bath mat or shower screen so we had to use a towel to mop up the spray.

Central location. Good value for money.
