High Greenside Farmhouse B&B

Lovely welcoming host. Beautiful, peaceful location. The breakfast was excellent quality local produce and very generous.

Niets . Geen ontbijt genomen.

De ontvangst. Veel te kleine kamer. Een ruziemakende buurvrouw. Wij zijn niet gebleven en hebben een andere locatie gezocht. Dit heeft ons 400 pond extra gekost..De recensies op de website zijn niet waar en waarschijnlijk verzonnen. Spijtig dat we hiervoor 255 pond betaalden. Is het mogelijk om een commerciele compensatie te bekomen?

The property is in a rural location, right at the end of a rural track, it’s wonderfully quiet and surrounded by pretty views and walks. Angela was friendly and breakfast was great. For evening meals we walked to the Black Swan (there is also the Kings Head but they were very busy) and the food there was excellent, you need a torch for the walk home ;) The photo was the view from our room.

The location is wonderful - remote and quiet, excellent for walkers and cyclists off the beaten track. The ensuite room was cosy - not a lot of space but a big step up from the small tent in which I had spent most of my holiday. The full Cumbrian breakfast set me up for the day. The farmhouse is very old, and offers lots of historic interest. Ravenstonedale village (about a mile away) has two good pubs plus a delightful par 3 golf course (pay and play, honesty box). Kirkby Stephen market town is worth a visit (about 7 miles away) and there is a chocolate factory at Orton (8 miles away). Best of all was the warm and friendly welcome. I am already planning my next visit.
