MADOKA Kyoto station west

I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this accommodation. The staff were very friendly, and everything was clean, tidy and well maintained. I arrived on a very hot day, so it was lovely to walk into a nice, cool room. The location was great too – it was close enough to Kyoto Station that I could easily walk there, even in the heat. Although I only stayed for two nights and mostly used the facilities in my room, everything I needed was provided and the bathroom and shower were spotless. My favourite part was the tatami mat area with the traditional Japanese-style table. I brought some food back to the hotel and ate there, which felt like a really authentic Japanese experience. Overall, a 10/10 stay and I would happily stay here again.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like about my stay. If I had to be a little nitpicky, my room didn't have a view, but that was expected as I hadn't booked a room with one. I actually appreciated that the windows were frosted rather than looking directly onto a wall, as they still let in plenty of natural light while maintaining privacy. Overall, it didn't take away from my experience at all.

A lot of space for the value, cool renovated bathroom, cool tatami room.

Located in a dirty alley, walk to station is 10 min but not comfortable. Front desk was very friendly but a bit disorganized.
