HOTEL LAGOS INN

We didn’t plan to spend the night in Lagos de Moreno but we did. We chose Lagos Inn Hotel even though it looked like it was being remodeled but it was a great choice. Nice and clean rooms, comfortable bed, personnel very courteous and polite. Breakfast is offered and it’s good!

Good hotel located downtown Lagos de Moreno. Rooms are clean, but they seems quite old. It will help to provide clocks in rooms. Good restaurant and friendly staff. Some difficulties to find parking space. Need to park about 4 blocks away

Firstly, none of the photos on TripAdvisor do this hotel any kind of justice. This hotel is in a typically non-tourist part of Mexico and as such you shouldn't come expecting The Savoy but it is far better than I was expecting. The lobby area is very smart and the restaurant/bar is also of good quality. The menu is varied and there is plenty to satisfy most people's tastes. I certainly had no complaints over the quality of the food at breakfast and on the one occasion I ate in the evening. I was very lucky to have my own local 'guide' so I often ate out in one of the many great (and extremely good value) restaurants near the town centre. The prices in the main restaurant are expensive for the area but still very cheap compared to the equivalent in the UK. The room I had faced the front of the hotel and looked toward the cathedral. The room was big, had good air conditioning and was plenty suitable for my needs. There were complimentary bottles of water that were replaced each day. The negative here is that it can be noisy, especially when the bells start ringing at 7am and 8am. For me it wasn't a big problem as I was often up at that sort of time but I can understand some people finding this a problem. I did not hear anything from any of the other rooms. The mattress was particularly hard but not uncomfortable enough to warrant me complaining about it at the time. The highlight of my stay was the service. The men and women on the front desk were amazing and helped me with everything from arranging a 'welcome to mexico' sign for me at the request of my girlfriend to assisting me with my Spanish. They were very polite and friendly at all times. This also was the case in the bar and restaurant. All in all I had a great experience in this hotel. The price for 6 nights was £280 (particularly impressive considering the much weakened pound in recent months) and for the money I can't see anyone getting any better in this area. Highly recommended. p.s. there is free wifi with a good speed and strong signal!

I was in town for business and the client had booked this hotel for me. The location is great, in the center of town, and the customer service staff was very friendly and accommodating at all times. For instance, I had absent mindedly left the cable to charge my phone at home when I packed for my trip - when I asked the lady at the front desk if there was a store nearby where I could buy one, she instead reached under the desk into a bag of cables left by previous guests and pulled a wall charger that fit my phone. She lent it to me to use until the end of my stay. Gestures like this, in addition to clean rooms, free bottled water, and an ok gym (for a hotel gym) on the 4th floor are what made my stay pleasant. I also found the wifi to signal to be strong and the connection fast. I rated this hotel 3 stars however due to noise levels. The garden in the courtyard, particularly the fountain, became the bane of my existence. Throughout the night it makes noise, but not the soothing kind you might expect from running water. More like somebody is peeing with the door open down the hall or someone left a faucet that you can't turn off slowly running in a bathroom sink somewhere. It was so annoying and extremely difficult to sleep to. The walls are also paper thin as you can easily hear conversations, tvs, other guests leaving their rooms, etc. Another thing to be aware of is that if you like a room that is totally dark when you sleep, these rooms are probably not the best for you. While the curtains provided are sufficient to offer privacy, the lighting in the courtyard/open hallways is bright (flourescent, I think) and on all night, shining into the room through the curtains and preventing it from being very dark. All in all it's a decent hotel, there are just some things to be aware. Again, the staff was great, which says a lot in my book.

I did not stay in this hotel but I ate all my meals in the beautifully appointed Linda Lagos Restaurant. The breakfast buffet, the soups (especially the caldo de pollo), and the entrees more than met my expectations. Great service by Rafael. Lovely view to the side of the Cathedral. Unfortunately, the hotel does not allow photos of the restaurant but I can attest to the high quality design and tasteful tones of autumn red, brown, and gold. All light fixtures are unique, as well as wall murals by artist David Vasquez Cedeno of Mexico City. Nice place to sit quietly and work or to enjoy the atmosphere.

What a nice location in the middle of this picturesque Mexican town. The hotel is placed right next to the church and near the central plaza. There are some nice restaurants around as well including the breakfast restaurant, which also serves coffee and tea specialties and sweet breads, cakes and cookies during the rest of the day. The rooms including the bathrooms are huge. The beds are pretty hard, but quite big, especially for Mexican standards, where the beds often are short. We stayed here twice within a short time. The security person that helped with our luggage greeted us as homecoming friends the second time and the breakfast chef remembered how I wanted my omelet. Should I say that the price for a room at this hotel was very low compared to other cities in Mexico?

We stayed at this hotel on our drive from Texas to Puerto Vallarta and we LOVED it. It's right downtown and the choices for food are great. We choose a great little taco place a block away. The beds were comfortable HOWEVER I do warn you that is you have any kind of sensitivities to smells either don't stay here or at least request a room with a window to the outside. Most of the rooms are open to an indoor courtyard and so you don't get fresh air and they have air fresheners ALL OVER the place. Other than that one annoyance, we really enjoyed our stay there. Parking is off the street under the building and is very secure. Breakfast was decent especially if you love fresh fruit. The staff was friendly and worked with us on changing our rooms to one with an exterior window for fresh air.

I have stayed at the Lagos Inn three times, each with a better and better experience that I stay. Rooms are decent size, have air conditioning, cable tv and a hot shower. Bottled water is provided and replenished daily. Breakfast is a nice assortment of fruits, cereal and always something hot. Front desk staff is friendly and their English gets better every time. Nice hotel at a nice price.
