The Old Manor House Hotel

Excellent location, super room.

Very disruptive guests. Not the hotel or the staff. Just unlucky to be there at the same time as noisy rude people

The staff were really good - attentive and always onsite and happy to help. The food was nice at lunchtime and there were nice cooked breakfast options. The bar was nice later on for a night cap.

Strange smell in the bar area and the heating was not on in the room when we got there, however the staff were helpful in letting us know how to turn it on.

Situated on the High St, close to the Station and bus stops, the Hotel is centrally located. A historic hotel, originally a manor house, it has an atmosphere of its own, and an interesting and comfortable interior. The furnishings and decor are very tastefully matched to the age and style of the building. The food in the restaurant was good. We enjoyed Sunday Roast at lunchtime and cooked breakfast in the morning where there was a good variety of choice. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. It was a very brief stay, but a hotel I would happily return to for longer to enjoy the atmosphere of the old manor house.

Room very cold on arrival and in need of decorating. The heating did not come on in our room at all so we used a blow heater that had been provided. We found the bed hard and uncomfortable.

From the very start, the manager and staff were incredibly helpful and supportive, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive, and clearly cared about making our stay special. They went above and beyond by helping to set up a beautiful outdoor romantic area, complete with a softly lit seating area and a bottle of champagne. It was perfectly done and created such a memorable and intimate moment for us. Our room was quiet, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable — exactly what we needed after such a special day. Breakfast the next morning was excellent, with great food and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for a special occasion. Thank you to the entire team for helping make our engagement truly unforgettable.
