Rinn Shirakawa South

Tne room was huge and had everything we needed. The location is perfect. Close enough to the city center, which we could reach by walking, but not in a too turisty area. The atmosphere overall is very relaxing.

Quiet neighborhood, very nice hotel and spacious room.

The room is really big with a tatami area where you can relax. You can move the beds around easily. Everyone in the front desk speaks fluent English. It has an old school key lock. It only has roughly 12 rooms. So even though it only has 1 washer, it was empty every time we have to use it. It also had an ice and water machine. It is in a quiet neighbourhood that is close to many shrines. The only minor complaint I have is there was a weird smell coming from either the washroom or the shower room. We had to turn the exhaust fan on the entire time to get rid of it. Also the TV was positioned in away such that it took me 5 minutes to connect the HDMI.

Went above and beyond during medical emergency. Staff was incredible and helpful

We loved the Rinn Shirakawa for the warm and helpful staff, the large room and the fantastic location. Hikaru, who was there on our arrival and another helpful young man, provided exceptional service. They assisted us with working out how to get to Arashiyama early the next day. We loved wandering the local area, the food and the lovely surprises around every corner. Would love to come back.
