K's Villa Takasegawa-tei

Great property and value! Comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed. Quite spacious, especially for Japan. Walkable to several subway/trains stations, and even Nishiki Market (about 20 minutes). While the check-in desk is at a different location (K's House Kyoto), they hired a taxi to bring us to the property, which was very thoughtful and appreciated. Check out is easy and doesn't require going back to the check-in desk.

These are some things to know about the property, but they did not significantly detriment our stay. Location - while the place was very close to Kiyomizu Gojo station, we almost always went to Gojo station (that line was more useful for us, which was a 10-15 minute walk. Privacy - the bedrooms were not fully enclosed, with both being open to the stairwell and separated from each other by just a shoji door. Especially if the guests have different sleep schedules, and light/noise from each other would be an issue. Check in - it would've been good if we knew before booking that the check in is actually at a different location (K's House Kyoto).

Lovely property in a more residential area, great to get away from some of the hustle and bustle. Friendly staff.

Great location, well equipped, comfortable apartment, nice neighborhood, plenty of room, helpful staff. It was just about perfect.

Only the noise of work outside, but Shigata ga nai. Not the owner’s fault.

We traveled with young kids and enjoyed the whole time staying in the villa, staffs are super nice and helpful, they even booked a taxi to take us to the villa.

The house is lovely, great position and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Great amount of space for a slightly longer stay (we did 6 nights)

The futons were very hard to sleep on, especially after a couple of days. Also there is no bannister on the stairs which made it a little dicey, for anyone with small children would it be a worry.

My wife and I absolutely loved this property. It's situated in a quiet little neighborhood around some little bars and cafes, yet is so close to the main drag so that you never feel too far from the action. The home was clean and had more than enough space for the two of us. Check-in was easy, and the people at the hostel even called us a taxi to bring us to the house. Would love to stay here again if we ever come back to Kyoto!
