Casa Kaligari history Old Town Rovinj

Our studio apartment was clean, bright, centrally located and Sarah and her father couldn’t have been more welcoming.

There was nothing that I didn’t like.

The property was a lovely little studio flat with all the amenities you could need. The host was incredibly helpful and gave us a tonne of info on Rovinj and the surrounding area. We were greeted by the host and his daughter who phoned us to translate for him; they were both fantastic! They provided us with a carafe of wine and the entire experience here was so lovely. I’ll be coming back for sure.

The only thing that was slightly problematic was the WiFi, the first couple nights it was almost unusable but when we did eventually get around to telling the host, they fixed it immediately and were incredibly proactive. We weren’t too fussed though as it was nice to be offline for a couple days and enjoy the city in peace.

When it comes to location you cannot beat this one. I was in the heart of old town and free to move around at any time. The owner is helpful and kind and works in the shoe shop downstairs. He is multilingual but does not speak much English so we communicated via his daughter or translators. It all just added to the Croatian experience. He also gave me a bottle of red wine made by his friend as a welcome gift. I don't like red wine but I loved this one!

I would say the climb up the stairs to the room, but I expected them based off the reviews I had read prior to booking. So if you know about the stairs beforehand you will be mentally prepared and won't mind them much.

Great location if you want to be in the old town. Very well renovated suite with everything wee needed. The host was very friendly and helpful. Though he spoke little English, he got his daughter on the phone to translate our conversation and together they were very informative about Rovinj and very helpful answering questions.

We were on the top (4th) floor and it was very hot going up the steep and narrow stairs each time, but there was no way to avoid that if you wanted the best room. It was a bit tricky to find, but his clue that it was above a shoe store was very helpful

Perfect location, very kind host, very comfortable.

Only the WiFi was a little temperamental. We would have liked a softer pillow.

Beautiful apartment right in the old town. It was convenient to access the boat to Red Island, the bus station, and all the shops and restaurants. The owners were very kind and helpful to help us check in and provided us with a map and all the best things to do on the island.
