SEMERU HOSTEL MALANG

Beautiful interior with gorgeous furniture and paintings. There are two common seating areas, I really liked the dining area that has natural light and lots of plants. Slept really well there, there are both Indonesian and international travellers. There is a place to dry your clothes outside. The location is really central with a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby. It's right next to Ijen Boulevard, nice to go and meet the locals on Sunday. However, my favourite thing about this hostel is Mr. Ecko. Helpful, friendly, great sense of humour and can tell you lots about Malang.

The hostel is really nice. Curtains, bedlight and socket for every bed in the dorm. Facilities are clean. They can organize tours for you. And the owner is really nice and helpful.

The bunk was very cozy and provided a lot of privacy thanks to the curtain. Showers were great and the kitchen area was beautiful and very relaxing. The staff were amazing; very helpful and really lovely!

This is one of the best hostels I've been to in Indonesia. The place is clean, with hot showers, comfortable common spaces, and is at a walking distance from the train station. No mosques and no roosters around, which is clearly a major plus.

The dormitory can sometimes be a bit noisy because people have to get up early to go on some tours, but this is nothing compared to how annoying a mosque or rooster can be...

The mix shared room is really crowded and there is no space for the backpacks, they were all around on the floor!

Very friendly staff, clean hostel, they have everything you need. The best thing is that you can book a tour to Tumpak Sewu, Bromo and Ijen there. The tour was an amazing experience, it was much cheaper than other similar tours and our driver a great guy - he made sure we had everything we needed and was always ready to help.

Everything was absolutely perfect and the staff was so helpful! They have a washing machine as well so you can wash your clothes.

It's not a very social hostel. But I think its like that everywhere in Malang because people just come for the waterfall and mount bromo and go to Bali / Jogja.
