Mountainaire Inn and Log Cabins

Too small for 3 adults and very old for paying over $230 a night.

The location is the only thing it has going for it.

The Bed was hard like a plank of wood. The light bulb in the single lamp was blown. It was dark and depressing.

Check in and parking was relatively easy

Pictures on website looked substantially better than the actual room itself which was small, outdated, and not comfortable

Understaffed. I received an email confirming early check in. I arrived two hours early and the room wasn’t ready. No rooms available for check in until 40 minutes after the NORMAL check in time. Then found out the rooms were actually clean, but not “inspected”.

It says it is rustic and it is. I'm not sure why some people rated it highly. I thought with a 4.7 rating it must be really nice inside. Maybe the cabins are nicer. We were in the Queen Room. The bathroom sink is for tiny people...very low and the smallest sink I have ever seen. The toilet is really low. I would not want to shower in the tub/shower and did not since we left early the following morning. I would give a lower score, but it does say rustic. The firepit that a few people talked about was wrapped closed with yellow tape, so unuseable. You have to check in at another hotel...no office at this one. The room was very, very small. The carpet was clean and the location is great. But, you would not want to stay here for a more than a night and only if you are looking for a place to sleep. It's probably the worst place we have ever stayed.

We have stayed at the Mountainaire Inn three times. Each time, we have had a very enjoyable experience. Our room was always cozy, clean, and welcoming. During our visits in November 2023 and 2025, we truly enjoyed and appreciated the nightly fireside relaxation. We were able to sit outside while keeping warm and visit with other guests. We loved the proximity to downtown restaurants and shopping. We were able to walk from the inn to shop and eat. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Housekeeping was kindly accommodating. During our visit in April 2026, visiting the local Glen Burney Falls Trail, Annie Cannon Gardens, and Memorial Park required little more than a convenient walk from the Mountainaire.

the place was in a very center place from main town.

when I saw the pictures and the site on line did not specified that there were 5 different locations neither that the check in was so difficult. Also, the emergency phones or the service number never respond. I needed an iron because the room did not provided it. No one respond my calls. Lastly, when I check in, the receptionist gave us the wrong WiFi hotel, log in and password. So, overall, wrong advertisement or not specified. Definitely, I will be more careful when check in on online sites.
