Jaguaribe Lodge & Kite

Hotel maravilhoso, café da manhã delicioso, funcionários muito gentis e atenciosos. Estrutura excelente. Estilo mais rústico, muito bonito. Os quartos ficam bem próximos à praia, pé na areia. Não tem split, porém, o clima é muito agradável, muito ventilado, ecológico. Quarto c cama confortável. Voltarei com certeza.

The hotel might have potential, but they lack information about events at their partner hotel, Jaguarindia, which recently hosted a wedding party with excessively loud music until 3:00 am. If you plan to stay, it's advisable to inquire in advance about any scheduled events in the neighboring hotels. If you're as "fortunate" as my wife and I were, your accommodation may vibrate with noise all night long and you lack a lot of sleeping.

The lodge is very well maintained, clean and comfortable and provides a lot of luxury. It is at the same level as the top lodges north of Fortaleza. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is very comfortable, however the food selection is limited for a longer stay. The large majority of guests were French. Some of the staff even spoke French with us. For us, not being french, this came as a surprise to us to find a French enclave in Brazil. In our family we had members who took it kite lessons. I recommend to book kite lessons in advance directly with the kite school in addition to the hotel booking, as in our case the kite school was surprised by our request, 2 days before our arrival. Nevertheless, David and Marcella from the kite school were able to arrange lessons. Thank you for that! The kite location is great as it offers flat water, waves and down wind options. The wind seems to be weaker than north of Fortaleza, 12 m2 kites or even bigger are common. The wind direction is side onshore or onshore.

The side onshore or onshore wind has as consequence that the wind blows over the water into the lodge and the temperature can feel chilly. We had a beautiful ocean front chalet, but could not open the shutters as the wind would have entered fully into the chalet making it rather uncomfortable. The chairs on the chalet’s Terasse would have offered a great relaxing place, but where never used as the wind blew directly onto the terasse making it uncomfortable and chilly. I guess the 2nd row bungalows would have been a better choice for us.

Breakfast was terrific, the staff is friendly and the beach is perfect.

We had water dripping onto the bed one night due to rain which was not pleasant, and it gets a bit warm at night inside the rooms if you leave the doors and windows closed.
