The room was excellent. The breakfast was delicious. The management was very helpful. Could not have asked for more all around. The price was very reasonable. A great location for walking to the main sights.

"Don’t judge a book by its cover!"

Being our first time traveling to Guadalajara, we weren’t aware of the location of this hotel. It’s located right in smacking downtown (which is why we chose it - everything was walking distance). However, it’s located in an area where buildings were graffitied and homeless folks were sort of hanging out (sort of SF vibes). We were initially concerned but ended up staying there anyway and it turned out to be a pretty cool place! The owner, Ramiro, was very pleasant and a really nice person all the way around. It’s a hotel of only about 5 rooms - not your typical hotel. I will definitely be staying here again!!!

"What A Gem"

Historic boutique hotel in the middle of Zona Historico. Steps away from the most magnificent cathedral in Latin America, fabulous food, and great shopping. The host was extraordinary. Very welcoming, very attentive, very helpful and very charming. Loved our stay at Hotel del Angel.

There was no hot water, you need to notify the attendant so he can turn on the hot water prior to taking a shower. The room was cleaned the first night, but subsequent nights the sheets were not changed I booked for 4 nights, but stayed only two. There was no AC in the room, but only a fan. The room looked nothing like the picture and this place is more like a b&b than an actual hotel. We ate the continental breakfast there the first morning and the attendant was nice unlike the night before when we arrived and were given all kinds of rules and directions on the use of the water etc. Additionally there's no parking, the attendant offered to have someone open up a parking space that was loaned to someone else. A little unusual for a hotel. I got say that the room looked pretty clean upon arrival tho.

"Mostly positive experience"

First off, this hotel would not qualify as three-star as TripAdvisor seems to think. I looked up the rating system.Two-star. but it may become three-star in the future. It has potential. The hotel only opened in December 2018, and is not finished. As of this writing, I believe there are only four rooms available. It likely would be more accurate to call Hotel del Angel a guesthouse, not a hotel. The rooms are very large with nice touches, big TVs, nice shower and very, very nice beds. The location is very convenient, right downtown but on a relatively quiet side street, a big plus. There is no swimming pool. There is no restaurant, though there are adequate restaurants just a couple of blocks away. Cons: This applies only to my room, maybe not the others. There was no towel rack in the bathroom, no place at all to hang a towel or anything else, for that matter. The shower stall floor is like wet glass, very slippery. A rubber mat is needed badly. The cable TV package puts a new meaning to "Basic." More channels are needed. But this is not the Hilton. You get what you pay for. And, from the price stated at the hotel entrance, you pay less dealing directly with the hotel than you do by reserving online, as I did. I reserved via Expedia and paid a third more than the price listed at the hotel itself. Odd. I see the higher price is also posted on Hotels.com and here on TripAdvisor. In closing, you get a very nice room in a convenient location at a reasonable price, but a more reasonable price directly from the hotel.
