Hotel Tabáa Oaxaca

Great vibe and great people!

We stayed at Hotel Tabaa for five nights in October 2021, and we can’t wait to come back! The location is great — a short walk from the city center, and just around the corner from incredible tacos and tlayudas. Perfect if you’re coming to explore old Oaxaca. But what makes this hotel so special is the beautiful and peaceful space combined with the generous hospitality. The space is new, peaceful and impeccably designed, with very clean and comfortable rooms. Everything we needed was provided — comfortable king sized bed, outlets at the bedside tables for charging your devices, plenty of space for our bags and clothes, spacious bathroom stocked with full size branded toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, body lotion). The old world accents added a very romantic touch. Light fare, coffee and tea are available in the courtyard, and fresh drinking water is restocked in your room daily. The courtyard space is quite peaceful and beautiful, a great place to relax. The gated entrance provides a sense of security, but the neighborhood feels very safe and quiet. And to top it all off, everything about our stay start to finish was easy. The staff and owners were genuinely kind and friendly people who went out of their way to accommodate every need. No brainer to stay here. We can’t recommend it highly enough. We will be back!

We spent 3 great nights at Hotel Tabaa. A hidden gem not to be missed. A short walk from the historic center. Super nice rooms, clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend this beautifully designed boutique hotel.

We stayed 6 nights at Tabaa and were not disappointed with the accomodations at the value. The spa portion is not active at this time so don't go expecting to get any spa treatments yet. One of the receptionists did say they could arrange to have a massage therapist come to your room for a massage. There is drinking water in your room refreshed daily. The front desk (during the day) speaks English and is helpful with questions about touring in the city. The entire place is behind a gated wall so we had no issues or concerns with safety. There is a small coffee bar (pods) with ammenities for hot teas and some yogurt/light breakfast foods. No restaurant. Very clean and comfortable. Will definitely return.

We had an amazing stay at Tabaa over Christmas with our family group. The hotel is spotless and has been beautifully restored to create a quiet, peaceful space within 10 minutes walk of the bustle of the centre of Oaxaca and all the attractions/ restaurants etc. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with comfortable beds and quality linens. The bathrooms also are large with great overhead shower. No expense has been spared in putting in top quality air conditioning units that quickly work to cool the rooms if necessary but are also very quiet and comfortable to keep on overnight. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful and I can’t fault them or the Hotel itself. Thank you Tabaa for a most excellent stay in beautiful Oaxaca. (There is also a complimentary continental breakfast available with great coffee and pastries to get you started each day... fantastico!)

We recently stayed at this cleverly restored, calming, minimalist gem. Don’t be put off by the lack of reviews as the hotel is brand new!. We were a large family group with very varied needs, some kids and 14 adults. The location was perfect in a quiet area but near enough to walk to the center of Oaxaca in 10 min. Tabaa staff went out of their way to accommodate us, and although it’s a small boutique hotel, they have staff available at reception 24 hrs. The rooms were beautiful and spotless with luxurious linen and towels. The large showers with great water pressure and lush complementary toiletries were the cherry on top. One feature we must mention which is more about function than look it’s that they have installed very good air conditioning units. They provide continental type “help yourself” breakfast with fresh fruit and locally made fresh bread every day. Nespresso coffee, tea making facilities available all day. Large glass water bottle gets filled everyday in your room.
