It looks very different to the photos, it’s an old onsen hotel and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, you can find something else with better value.

It’s very noisy where rooms are next to a busy road, you can’t sleep well. The only benefit we booked was for bike hires and found out it’s quite difficult to hire actually.

The property was amazing. It reminds me of a ski resort however for biking. It has great communal areas - onsen, outside fire for toasting marshmallows, a bar that runs from 8pm to 10pm. The rooms are also amazing. While I was here I learnt about a word in Japanese for wholeheartedly looking after guests - Omotenashi (おもてなし) and Kona Stay exemplifies this practice.

Easy bike rentals, excellent breakfast, good hot spring/bath facilities.

AC/heat in the dorm room was controllable by guests and someone once set the heat to 26 degrees Celsius which was way too warm.

Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich. Das Onzen warm und entspannend. Die Atmosphäre ist ist super. Wir wären gern noch eine Nacht länger geblieben.

Well set up for cycling. Nice shared spaces.

There were times when you could not access the kitchen (ie if you hadn’t bought a breakfast from the them but wanted to fix your own). Overall though it was a minor issue.
