Queens Rooms

The room was large and quite comfortable although basic. There was a small table, two chairs, a chest of drawers and a warm bed. I appreciated the plates and cutlery provided along with tea/coffee etc. Parking was free and Tesco's is only maybe 200 yards away. The house is next to a railway line but I slept well even so. Although this quite basic room wasn’t cheap, it was one of the two most reasonable that I could find close to Portmerion, which is about a ten minute drive away, so it was fine for my one-night stay.

I couldn’t get the shower to stay at an even temperature—it alternated between totally cold and very hot. I personally would have preferred lighter towels—I’m afraid of spiders and they just wouldn’t show on a near black towel. There are also a few dark red or brown splashes below the bathroom mirror that looked as if they might be blood—it would be better if they weren’t there.

The place is currently undergoing renovation and we were advised of the fact before booking, hence some low scores. It was ideal for our needs at the time. We just needed an unexpensive bed for the night,. The room was a good size and comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee facilities. It will be great to visit again once the renovation is complete!

Very basic but that is reflected in the price, perfect for a one night work trip. Had a great Thai meal 10minute walk into town.

No real complaints, just very basis as reflected in the price.

Have been here three time now. excellent stop over on a motorbike trip. Will be staying again.
