It was as expected from the photos, great location and easy to access without the reception being open. I was worried the street would be loud but it wasn’t at all.

The mattress was definitely a firm one and so we found that too hard for us. There were no free/included toiletries as per the description, we had brought our own anyway but in case others did expect. It would be useful to have a shower caddy to put the toiletries in.

The apartment was on micklegate which was great but extremely noisy at night with people passing shouting/screaming Hasn’t seen any previous reviews about this, wouldn’t have booked if had known this Bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable but that is personal preference Could benefit from a full length mirror

The location of the apartment was really good. And would have had potential to be a good apartment.

The apartment was extremely unclean. There was dust everywhere, in many places excessive as though it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The skirting boards were very grimey with dirt and much build up. The kettle and toaster were very unclean with the kettle having a massive build up limescale all around the lid and the spout. The shower head was filthy as though that hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. And the vanity table was disgusting, covered in stains and dirt, dusty and again as though it hadn’t been cleaned. Just so much of the apartment was a massive build up dust and just dirty (including the couch, which was covered in stains, the doors, light fittings, inside drawers) it made us feel very uncomfortable and for the price we paid for the apartment it was extortionate for what we received. We also got in touch with someone who works at wheelwrights York 3 times throughout the trip to explain how unhappy and uncomfortable we were. We sent them photos of the apartment and the dirt. They didn’t offer us anything, even for them to come and see it themselves or for someone to come in and clean the apartment. It’s been a few weeks now since our stay and we haven’t heard anything from them. We explained how extremely unhappy and shocked we were that we had to stay here and the price that was charged of us but the contact again did nothing throughout the stay and afterwards. I think this is terrible customer service.
