De Regency Style Hotel

Clean, but needs a little TLC, Great choice of TV Channels, more than had before at other places.. Definitely not suitable for disabled as steep flight of stairs also no food available. The 2 members of staff I met where very helpful and friendly

Front desk not managed had to leave a note, for bin to be emptied and fresh towel as no heating in on suite to dry towel.

It was warm?

There was marks all over the walls when we got in to the property there was no one at the front desk and through out our stay we only ever saw someone there once. When we were shown to our room the guy disappeared cuz there was no toiletries in the room (I.e soap toilet roll) he did not give us the keys until he got back. It was so loud all night and the noises made it seem like there was someone outside our room all night so my partner and I did not sleep well at all additionally the shower would intermittently drip a lot of water which was another factor in why we couldn’t sleep. We didn’t feel at ease at any point in our stay and couldn’t relax.

The bed was reasonably comfortable apart from the dead spider which I removed Luckily I am not an arachnophobe so that did not freak me out too much but it really should have been picked up by cleaning staff The room was reasonably warm and there was little noise inside the hotel but the noise from the pub outside was unpleasant I have no idea why people feel the need to stand in the street and sing when there is plenty of room inside but maybe that is whatever floats your boat

There was no breakfast provided so I cant comment on that I know Redditch reasonably well and the area where the hotel is located felt busy and not particularly safe especially for a single woman A noisy pub opposite played music into the early hours making sleep difficult On arrival there was no one at reception I was approached by a man who turned out to know the owner but as a lone female this initially felt uncomfortable The owner later arrived and gave me keys but did not explain how to use the entry fob He insisted on carrying my suitcase upstairs and damaged it in the process which I felt was unnecessary and careless The room itself was basically clean and the bed comfortable but there was no toilet paper later replaced a dead spider in the bed and a great deal of noise from outside The shower was tiny and the tap could easily become scalding a potential safety hazard I work for the NHS and I am a doctor so I tend to notice potential hazards The door handle in the shower and the tap both caused concern as pressing the tap could easily result in a nasty scald and the handle was at a height that could cause injury if someone bent down suddenly Parking was in a nearby vets car park which was not clearly signposted While the room might be acceptable for a family given there were three beds and it was inexpensive I would not recommend it for a woman travelling alone It was cheap and functional but the safety and maintenance issues need attention

The staff here are excellent - welcoming and really helpful. The room is superbly clean. We stayed a few weeks ago, and came back this week for a family funeral. It made a difference to a sad occasion, that we were greeted by lovely people. We had a comfortable room, a good shower, and plenty of tea and milk. The storage space under the bed is a very clever design. The wardrobe is great - and so many hangers!

We don't really care about the few tiny problems - the TV can 'freeze' sometimes, but it just buffers and not for long. It'd have been good to have small towels, too, and a bath mat, but that's not a big deal - as the shower is efficient, and that's the most important.
