Flock Kathmandu

I spent 32 nights in this wonderful and quiet accommodation. On the edge of the crazy and noisy Thamel this is a ideal spot to relax. A few highlights to be mentioned: free drinking water stations (filtered), warm and very clean showers (very rare in Nepal) and a cosy common room in the 4th floor (there is also a little working space). The employees are very polite and helpful. Laundry service is available, you can book trekking tours very easily and the co-workers can organise bus-tickets to Pokhara etc. The restaurant is very nice as well (compared to Nepalese restaurants a bit expensive, but the atmosphere is really cool) and 2 days before I left, they started a bereakfast buffet at the roof-restaurant) which was absolutely amazing. Next to the roof-restaurant, you can use a nice yoga room, which I did almost every day. I slept in a 8-bed-dorm which was very clean, had its own bathroom and every single bed was combined with enough storage and privacy (thick curtains). I have to remove one little point out of 5, because the live music on Friday and Saturday evenings was a little bit too loud. I would definitely come back as soon as I can. I would recommend this luxurious hostel for everyone, who wants to escape from the effervescent city and refill their “battery of energy” to enjoy the amazing country every single day.

We were 2 friends who stayed in private twin room. The rooms are modern with hot water and comfortable beds. 2 pillows each and thick quilts. Also a fan and AC. No complaints. As a hostel, it has a common area and yoga room (there are no yoga mats for rent) and in our time, we didn't see anyone using the common room. There is no kitchen so it really lacks a space to get to know other travellers. Everyone seems to be sitting alone in the restaurant. The restaurant provides an excellent selection of food and it's delicious. Great coffee. If you're travelling as a pair or more then it fuctions as a great budget hotel. For solo travellers wanting to meet people, I would just visit the restaurant. There is also an on-site tour shop. The area itself is nice. Near other backpackers and near the tourist shops.

Comfy beds, clean rooms and bathrooms, good location, friendly team. Laundry and drinking water available. Good food in onsite restaurant and bakery. Excursion desk is also available. Would recommend.
