Kings Arms - Egham-Windsor

Cute boutique hotel but bathroom very small. No air conditioning. Staff was extremely friendly and made the stay pleasant. Great restaurant downstairs.

Nice bar and public areas, easy parking and comfortable bed.

We had an appalling sleepless night due to a faulty light switch automatically operated by opening and closing our room door. The light would not turn off so I visited reception to point this out and they came to the room and said the switch was an issue but if we slam the door it should be ok. We were very tired after a day travelling and were dozing off to sleep when the light came on again and woke us. I had to get out of bed and slam the door to get the light off. This then happened 4 more times during the night. If I could have removed the bulb I would have done! I reported this issue to the charming breakfast waitress but obviously she could do nothing about it. What should have been a pleasant overnight stay was a disaster.

Good location close to station, nice decor, great for twickenham. Nice town too.

Attention is needed. The room we had didn’t match the photos but was similar. The lights are auto in the bathroom & came on several times in the night. The room was hot but the air con didn’t start until 8 am. There was a lovely copper bath but the plug was broken so you couldn’t use it. There was a nice coffee machine but no milk, it was supposed to be in a fridge in the hall but it was empty. There was cow shed shampoo & conditioner in the shower area but no shower gel. It’s theses details that matter.

Gorgeous elegant interior for both room and dining area. Room was spacious despite being the smaller choice. Mix of old and contemporary sophistication. Bathroom was novel with tap outside shower stall! Great water pressure for satisfying shower. Usually I start reviews off with saying clean. This is a given I this place and there is just so much else to live abt this place.

It’s a pub with rooms, not hotel with pub. So while no issues checking in and out at bar, there are no lifts for traveler with luggage. Flight of stairs with steps meant for smaller shoes was the first challenge. Fortunately, at check in, the bartender/reception was quick to whisk the luggage up. Checking out before 7am, however, was bit of issue since staff came in only at 7. So I had to slowly drag the luggage downstairs by self.

Great hotel. Quiet. Subway to Heathrow is right across the street. Lots of little restaurants around
