"No cellular service, no wifi, and no windows."

2.0

They let us out of our second night stay since there was no wifi and no mobile phone service.

Our room was small and completely windowless, despite there being large windows on the listing. There was no cellular at all and their wifi was broken so we had to leave our room to send texts and messages and to look up anything online. We cut our stay short and found another place nearby.

Close to the airport

Stayed at The Old Borough Wetherspoon in Swords for one night with friends. The room itself was small and had no window, which wasn’t really an issue for us, but unfortunately the TV wasn’t working. To their credit, the staff compensated us by providing our dinner free of charge, which we appreciated. Sadly, the dining experience was disappointing. My jacket potato with coleslaw was overcooked, dry and frankly rather unpleasant. We also ordered a cocktail pitcher containing 100 ml of vodka, but it tasted very bland. Our friends received and finished their meals at least 30 minutes before ours arrived, and even then I had to ask where they were. When the food finally appeared, it was cold. One of our friends ordered chicken, broccoli and mashed potato with gravy, but it arrived without any gravy. When she queried this, the waitress initially told her there wasn’t any and my friend requested a refund. A few minutes later the waitress returned triumphantly to announce that they had “found some gravy” after all. It was all so chaotic it felt like something straight out of Fawlty Towers, and we couldn’t help but laugh. The night’s entertainment didn’t end there. The couple in the room next door spent much of the night engaged in a spectacular shouting match, complete with slamming doors and a barrage of colourful language. It was reminiscent of Frank McCourt describing his parents’ rows in Angela’s Ashes—not exactly the peaceful night’s sleep we had hoped for. Overall, while the staff did try to make amends for some of the issues and everyone was pleasant, the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Clean. Breakfast was good value. Decent size bathroom. Shower was great.

Room was so warm. But better than too cold. No hairdryer in the room.

Love guy on check in

The room was windowless so had a Felix window. It kept activating during the night. Wish there had been air conditioning in the room
