Della Fontana Penthouse

Our stay at Della Fontana penthouse was great for our family, the owners and neighbours were extremely helpful and caring.

Well this one is a quandary. This house looks like it's been a Rave party house for years. We imagine it was stunning back in its prime. It's sad that they've let it be so used and abused. The fireplace is a rust pit and doesn't work. Paint on walls peeling, appliances rusted. Bathrooms dark, moldy and stinky! The place is grimie and filthy! Walls are paper thin, I could hear the neighbor snoring. The hot tub looks like a toxic waste dump. Washer and dryer are broken. Gave us a huge feeling of sticky ick! On the plus side it has big glass sliders that view the lake and a big dirty deck with drop dead gorgeous views, most likely some of the best views of lake como! It's spacious, big closets. It's also only a mile walk to Varrena where you can catch a ferry to Como or most villages on the lake. Varrena is wonderful, Gourmet restaurant's and a sweet little market where you can taste local wine, cheese and goodies. For exercise there are steep paths, plus botanical gardens. Lake Como is fantastic! We ended up moving to a much smaller and cleaner place near by and were happier.

This place is a DUMP! Beautiful view..so don’t get fooled! Everything in the place is gross and broken. It’s one bedroom (not two) and the other beds are on the floor in an angled loft and you have no head space at all…not to mention it’s a billion degrees upstairs. The bedroom closet was full of someone’s clothes and crap. AC was broken, moldy bathroom floors and ceilings, stove didn’t work, spa was broken…we left a day early and they offered us no refund or anything. Do not stay here.
