Love the property; was my hotel of choice in Wabash.

I requested a room with a walk-in shower vs. a tub. I have a disability and it’s safer. Check in clerk said he didn’t know which rooms had tubs and which had showers (odd); gave me keys to room 216 and said if it had a tub, bring the keys back down and he’d give me rooms to look at until I found one with a shower. 216 had a tub so I brought the keys back for an exchange. He told me he’d spoken with his manager and he said that they couldn’t give me a room with a shower because I booked it through Booking.com. I wasn’t please since all the rooms are the same price and they clearly had low occupancy and plenty of rooms with showers available. He wouldn’t let me get a sentence out of my mouth…tried to interrupt me by talking over me saying, “Ma’am” “Ma’am” and not listening to what I was just saying, and I told him if he didn’t want me to crawl over the counter he needed to stop ma’aming me and stop talking over me and have a conversation with me. He brought out his manager and they told me they would not allow me a room with a shower and I needed to leave and that they were canceling my reservation for “threatening “ the employee. I tried explaining it’s a colloquial expression not a real threat and that it’s clear with my age and disability I couldn’t crawl over any counter but she threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave. Now Booking.com cannot get them to agree to refund my money even though THEY canceled my stay! So stupid. What would they have lost to give me a room with a shower? Nothing. It’s actually a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act not to provide a reasonable accommodation for someone disabled.
