Restaurant @ dinner was SoSo Nice brekkie… even sent us off with brekkie box on a tour day

Good location

The facility was as described, the room was a good size for 2 people, and the shower and bath were nice. I was on floor 21, which had a nice view. The lift came up and down quickly; each floor was nicely designed. The housekeeping staff are doing a great job; the room was really clean, as was the whole facility.

Very surprised and highly disappointed about the breakfast, as it was a perk from the previous reviews on here. The hotel is ripping us off by selling us a $35 add on breakfast (on booking.com, but also on their own website) when you book a room. However, the à la carte breakfast items are priced at $25 maximum (some are even lower). As a customer: why am I paying $10 extra than any walk-ins coming in to have breakfast? To me, the buffet (which is the other breakfast option) is definitely NOT worth $35. When I mentioned it to the staff, I was offered a $10 refund for each of us (2) per night, which I actually never got. When checking out, nothing was mentioned to me. I ended up mentioning the issue I have with the ethics/values of the hotel charging more to their own customer for breakfast, but didn't get much of an answer. The staff, in general, lack training and customer service skills. About the room - the mattress was extremely soft, and I ended up with back pain after the 2nd night. Despite being on the 21st floor, the noise on Friday night coming out of the clubs was impressively loud; Saturday was a tiny bit better but still loud. The area/street didn't always feel safe. I looked at lots of hotels before booking this one, as it was a special getaway for my son (6 years old) and me - I really don't think it deserves the rating it has on booking.com or overall and will never stay there again.
