"Beautiful, Welcoming, middle of it all."

10.0

The most spectacular place we have been throughout Morro Bay & Pismo area. This room was so beautiful 400 sq ft, big enough for us to have a hospital bed delivered added to room for our daughter. The Jacuzzi Tub was a new added touch. Since there are only 8 rooms it is pretty quiet. Great restaurants all within walking distant. The Sea Lions are on deck across the way but not loud to where it was overwhelming and sometime you couldn't hear them at all. The STAFF was amazing and thoughtful. This will be our home away from home.

"We loved our time in Morro and the Anderson Inn."

9.0

Very clean! The room was very nicely decorated and maintained. Our stay included many nice touches like complimentary ear plugs and sleep masks and a plush robe for each of us. The king bed was soooo comfortable. The staff was very pleasent and attentive. They made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The Anderson sits in a wonderful location. Centrally located and a short walk to the shops and restaurants near by. Lastly, the view of the bay, Morro rock and sunset each day was great.

If I have to give a negative, I would say it was the water in the bathroom and shower. Kinda had a slimey feel to it that I didn't care for and left us a little creeped out but that's what water softeners do. Anyway, you'll want to bring some bottled water for drinking.

"Magical view and great location"

10.0

Watching the wind and rain roll across the waves just outside on our first night was magical. A great start to our vacation. The rooms are clean, well decorated, thick-walled for sound isolation, on the second floor with a view, and located in the heart of the Embarcadero. Great restaurants like the Galley (downstairs) are within easy walking distance. Sites to see include the movie theater, surfing, coffee houses, and shops. On warm days, kayaks and standup paddleboards can be rented nearby for beginner-friendly paddling past oh-so-cute sea otters to the sandspit. The hotel staff was very friendly, and quick to offer complimentary water bottles.

"Wonderful Wonderful!"

10.0

Wonderful place! Had the Starboard room right over the water and got to watch sea otters, seals, pelicans, etc. right from our balcony. Bed and easy chairs were very comfortable, albeit a little low to the ground, which is harder on us old people, but we managed. Nespresso coffee maker in the room was a nice touch and when I mentioned to Moira that I can only drink decaf (heart issue) she made sure I was adequately supplied. The adjacent Galley restaurant does not take reservations but they will for hotel guests. Be sure to ask the front desk to make them for you. (The restaurant is well worth it.) The gas fireplace puts out a surprising amount of heat for a gas fireplace. My only minor complaint is the shower. The lower jet is about 1-2 inches too high to be able to hit strategic parts. We did not use the whirlpool tub so can’t comment about that.Lots of usb charging ports, which is nice.

"Great place to stay in Morro Bay"

10.0

Anderson Inn, of all the choices of hotels or motels, is probably the best commercial option in Morro Bay in 2026. Its price point is high, but hey! when you are at the top of mediocre options, why shouldn’t it be! Plus, it houses one of the better seafood dinner restaurants, the galley. There are no breakfasts here, nor are there any places that don’t require a walk or a drive, but they have a microwave and fridge, so I guess that’s their compromise. Two balconies are a plus if you can’t get a waterfront view. Rooms are nice minus a table for your laptop, but if you are dragging a laptop to Morro Bay you should probably go somewhere else. No bathtub, poor shower water pressure, but one can’t have everything. The TV is direct TV, so movies are more or less whether you get lucky. Perhaps this movie option is the only reason for a laptop. I’d come back if for whatever reason I was in Morro Bay. I haven’t tried the VBRO scene here, but no VBRO could put you where the Anderson Inn is located. A deserving 5 star rating, and I don’t give out many of these. Congrats!
