MainStay Suites Carlsbad South

Room smelled oil and grease due to rooms mostly for men who work the oilfields. I requested another room but was denied. Will not be staying there again.

This hotel is super clean & nice! The only downside is for the breakfast.. the only protean was boiled eggs. Lots of fruit, bread choices & cereals. Would consider if more of a continental INSTEAD of full.

There were truck races on the street in front of the hotel. Woke us up in the middle of the night

I loved the space of the room it’s very spacious and the bed was comfortable however most rooms didn’t have remotes and the first night they didn’t want to fix the issue but that morning they did. The water stays hot for a while during shower time. Housekeeping doesn’t come around for dirty towels or trash you have to do that on your own. Breakfast is pretty basic regards to other hotel breakfast I’ve had but it’s self served.

How big the rooms were and how friendly staff was

It stunk & the shower still had hair and oil in it

The breakfast was terrible, staff wasn't friendly. And, the hotel was filled with mostly oil workers. I didn't feel safe having my children there.

Hotel seems very new.

Need to improve breakfast options

The kitchen facilities were great, and the suite multipurpose furniture very well thought out

Air con was a little fierce
