Fukunae House

Accommodation was clean and comfortable. The host was lovely. She provided all sorts of information on the surrounding area and even offered to make a dinner reservation at a local restaurant for me.

Price point is awesome

1. There wasn't any bath towels provided. No one was there until I called the owners. 2. The other room was being listed as dorm and one of the people who just checked in that day tried to open my room door even though you can see through the frosted glass part of the door there it's lit which should indicate to any sensible human being that it is occupied. 3. One can still see silhouettes through the translucent frosted glass door and especially for females it is not quite ideal.

The host was incredibly sweet and helpful. She even helped me understand the area.

This is the 2nd time i came to Takeda and stayed at Fukunae. It was a pleasant and friendly stay and the host, Kitamura and Elie san were very nice and we had some nice chit chat too. The location is just 2 min walk from the station and if you cant find it, then you can walk for abt 100 m after exiting the station to your left and you will see Fukunae cafe. ** they also had a cafe ^^ Their homestay is behind the cafe. The town is very quiet and serene, and the bed is comfortable, making you relax with a great sleep at a mountainside atmosphere. Its a little pricey though, maybe because i had a double bed room. Highly recommended !!

If you have large luggage, its going to be hard climbing up the stairs. Not a big problem though. If they can have larger dressing window, would be great ^^ Also, you need to move downstairs to wash your face everytime. It would be great to equip one at the upper floor.

Takeda is too small of a station. Bring enough food and drink or plan to go to Wadayama to stock up. We visited Kinousaki Onsen briefly on the owner’s recommendation, for dinner etc. (Thanks for the tip!)
