Kingston Hotel 13 - Penang Hills formerly known as Deview Hotel

Staff were nice, attentive, and helpful. Good location being in between Kek Lok Si Temple and Penang Hill.

First room that was given was occupied by a hotel staff, never experienced that before let alone been to a hotel where a staff is staying in a guest room. Changed to a second room and that’s where we found: (i) broken chair (ii) stained bed sheets (subtle but obvious brown stains and even a red blood stain) (iii) Bathroom glass was dirty (iv) Bathroom floor was slightly dirty with hair on the floor Went back down to change rooms for a 2nd and the staff attempted to “fix” the situation by offering to change the bedsheets, which was completely insufficient and unacceptable. Insisted on changing rooms as at that point I was very tempted to request for a refund and look for a new place, especially after a long drive from KL. Changed rooms in the end in which the cleanliness was only slightly better than the 2nd room. Chair and kettle was missing this time, but was later given them upon request (though chair was still slightly broken). Also paid extra for a kingsized bed which ended up being two single beds combined into one, so pretty much got scammed for that. I would rather used the money I paid (almost RM400 for 3 nights) to stay at a boutique hotel in Georgetown.
