Kanamori House

Everything. We were only two people trying to have some space after a pocket-size apartment in Tokyo and it was beyond amazing. We had everything we needed. Really well equipped, comfortable, spacious, and walkable to every tourist attraction in Takayama. I would definitely recommend it.

An extra toilet upstairs would be perfect

Having your own house in Takayama was wonderful. The house has a modern Japanese feel, and has everything you need for a family.

Nothing. We loved everything about it!

Everything in the mountain town of Takayama was within easy walking distance of Kanamori House. The house was easy to find and very clean and comfortable. It is a great base from which to explore the surrounding Japanese Alps. We rented a car at the train station (International driver's license required) and used it to explore the thatched-roof farmhouses in Shirakawa-go village and nearby waterfalls and a scenic cable car ("ropeway") up into the mountains.

It took a while to heat up the downstairs shower with the electric heater provided.

Very beautiful house in modern Japanese style. You can stay comfortably with your friends or family.

A bit more expensive than my budget plan~^^

It has been some really good days in Takayama. Kanamori House is a beautiful house with everything you need. the recommended parking is very close and there was always a parking space for our car. We had some problems at the beginning which were solved with the help of Tae M from the rental company Japan Experience. Many thanks for that. We would definitely recommend this house to others who want to see Takayama.

The house offers a unique and wonderful experience for those eager to experience the Spring/Autumn festivals. We even got to experience an additional final ceremony with one of the floats right outside the house. It was very exciting.

the space are big and comfortable, location was quite convenient.

unfriendly neighbour; we tried to ask for help nicely by borrowing a snow shovel but we were wave away. It is fine with no parking but wish there could be a grace period to allow car temporarily park to unload and manage elderly before moving the car to a parking lot.

very nice modern Jap house with mixture of tatami and modern bed. it’s very clean and nice aroma. well equipped with good heating in winter. very spacious and good value for money.

there’s only one toilet and it’s on the ground floor near the front entrance.. so it’s a bit inconvenient especially for an elderly to use the toilet in the middle of night walking down the steep staircase from the upper level where bedrooms are and walk towards the front part of the house to use the toilet. It is a trip hazard if you are not careful walking down the staircase in sleepy mode.. in my opinion. The bedrooms upstair are spacious enough to renovate and add a toilet (my suggestion to the owner).
