SORRENTO HISTORICAL CENTER

Carlo was such a hospitable host, we loved all of his recommendations. Thank you for having us, we hope to see you again some day.

Perfect location! Right in the fun part of town but there are exceptional windows that block out the noise. Many shops and restaurants are in this area. The train station is a short walk away (less than a 10 minutes). Carlo is a wonderful host and responded very quickly to our questions. We would stay here again!

Right in the center, a perfect location to go out anytime, spacious room, clean with a nice table to eat and a washing machine!

Nice basic apartment. Had all the facilities needed.

Had to pay to go in the lift but they did provide us with some euros.

Carlo, our host, met our taxi, helped us with luggage over the cobblestone pedestrian zone. He met every request with courtesy and immediate response. The location in the middle of the main shopping street was perfect. Close to everything. The location could not be better.

The location is excellent. it was very clean.

There are lots of steps to climb. Not a problem for us, but might be for some. There is both a lockable door and a lockable gate to initially enter the apartment block/property. They remain unlocked during the day, but are locked in the evening. In the evening you require a total of 3 keys to enter/exit. The instruction on departure is to leave the keys on the worktop in the kitchen. We vacated at 07.25am only to find we couldn’t then get out as both the gate and external door were locked and the keys were in the apartment. After a short moment of panic the door was opened from outside by someone who works on the ground floor. There is a tiny lift which costs 20 cents to use if you don’t want to climb the stairs. We didn’t use the lift as we were afraid of becoming stuck in it. The owners do provide a few Euros worth of coins for the lift. Not a big deal, but we thought a microwave and more kitchen utensils might have been useful. The hot water was intermittent, but we managed to get a reliable supply by switching the bathroom sink tap on first and then the shower etc. It wasn’t a big deal and we reported it to Carlos before we left the property. I thought it might just a sticky valve: easily fixed. Carlos was our main point of contact and he was marvellous. He was there to meet us when we arrived and communication couldn’t have been better. The City Tax calculation on Booking.Com was incorrect and is payable in cash to Carlos on arrival. This is a super critical review, but I have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would stay again.

Carlo kept in touch prior to us arriving, met us outside and gave us a lot of information relating to Sorrento. The location is excellent, right in the middle of everything yet felt safe and when in the apartment very quiet.

Nothing, would definitely stay there again.
