Italianway - Torno

Location was good, very modern apartment. my children loved Netflix after a long day sightseeing.

The photos of the property showed a terrace / balcony which looked really idyllic to have your coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sunset. However, when we arrived the property didn’t have any balcony of any kind! No toaster or kettle, just a hob & microwave. Also, no fault of the property but good for others to know.. the supermarket has very limited stock & limited opening hours including being closed on a Sunday which caused us real issues as we had no supplies & had 2 children to feed!

very suffocated apartment. there was no fan or air conditioned, but later they provided a small one, which wasn’t very effective. bed linens were not so clean

We had a wonderful time in Torno, Como, and on the lake. We visited Cernobbio and Bellagio and had a great time. Our place was very comfortable, but due to our short stay we were not able to use all of the amenities available.

Great appartment, only a few steps from the port in Torno. There was soap and body lotion, but no shampoo (we had ours so it’s fine) and a nespresso machine would have been great. Overall experience totally great!

We only stayed 1 night but it is a wonderful B&B to stay! We had some problems with our car and all the parkingspaces were taken when we arrived but the owner and his staff helped us immediately. We could not have solved it alone so we are very grateful they helped us! They also helped to bring down our luggage to the apartement and the lady at the reception was very friendly en showed us around. The apartement is fully equiped and when you need something, you can always ask the lady at the reception. Breakfast was perfect for us, not to much choice but everyone will find something he likes. Torno is a beautiful place and the b&b is located very near to the boatstop so you can take the boat real easy to every town at lake Como. The wine bar at the hotel is also very cosy, a really good place to end a wonderful day with some wine or prosecco.

We stopped in the town off the ferry and found this shop in the laneway. Boutique shop was fantastic and the bar was great. The place is locally run and the lady speaks English. Fantastic drinks and cheese. We only stopped for coffee but were drawn in by the cave where the bar is. Has accommodation but we just stopped for a drink. Service was amazing! Recommended if you want an authentic spot :)

We had visited Torno before, but hadn't stayed. We booked Torno in Riva and what a quaint little place. Our apartment was just up a quiet laneway and only 50 metres from the lake. A great apartment with all the amenities we needed and a lovely hostess. The cave bar would be great with a bit of a crowd but we were there after the season and the only ones there, so it lacked a bit of atmosphere. All around a really good place to stay.

Wonderful wine bar that is a cave originally used as boat storage. The sisters that own and run the bar and store are so lovely. What a gem. Besides wine they have great cocktails and food. This is a place for locals. We stopped twice and were definitely the only westerners. But the sisters spoke good English and were very nice.

We stayed for 1 night, 2 adults 2 children in a apartment. Apartment was well appointed and spotless clean. We had a great welcome and where well looked after by the young lady whom ran the place. The highlight is the cave winer bar which is truly spectacular and quite a surprise in an otherwise very quiet area. As far as Torno itself goes there is little or nothing to see or do so if your after excitement you won’t find it here. It could be used as a great and good value base to explore lake como.

We can not wait to come back and show our best friends what a lovely place Torno in Riva is to stay. Riccardo and family were very gracious and the Wine Cave and Shop were very charming. What a wonderful place to relax and no need to drive, just take the boat into Como or any of the other near by towns. Already planning our next time to visit!
