The George Inn Middle Wallop

Booked 3 rooms for 1 night for a family reunion. Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable and usual amenities were in place. Food - evening meal and breakfast - was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the bedrooms appeared not to have been properly cleaned before arrival - bath was dirty and some cobwebs in corners etc. However these were promptly attended to when brought to staff notice.

Bit of a limited menu, but food we did get (as well as the breakfast) was delicious and well prepared! The room was clean & very comfortable, so we had a very good sleep!

Room was a bit chilly - the portable heater was fine until the main heating came on, and we needed it again in the morning - but not a game changer .. Bit of a pain playing 'hunt the TV remote' which turned out to be in the bar area (?? I know!) but again, gave us something to laugh about!

Location, parking and the staff on the day

Single room as booked but the rather ornate bedside light had a lead so short that the switch was hidden behind the bedside table. I had to pull that out to find the switch. Likewise the baggage rack was unusable - a simpler one and a couple of hooks elsewhere would be better I think. I suggest the manager should sleep in this room to test it. Major issue was I arrived at 3pm for an afternoon nap, as did two more guests. Open from 3pm is published on Booking.com and the Pub's web site. But the staff arrived (as instructed by manager) at 4pm, quite frustrating. Staff were good - web info was bad.

Food is excellent! Very comfortable beds! Great staff.
