Waverley Inn Apartments

Self catering, location excellent for railway station.

Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. My room was in another building and staff had no address to give me, just directions on how to get there. The building where my room was very rundown and in horrible condition. Carpets were torn, old, and dirty. Walls had not been cleaned in ages, dirt marks everywhere. Packages of toilet paper in hallway, and the entire interior was very untidy and unclean. It did NOT feel like a hotel; no lobby, no lock on the front door, and homeless drunks outside the front door. It was so uncomfortable and I felt so unsafe that I decided I could not stay there so I found another hotel. The male receptionist was very unpleasant when I explained my concerns, and unwilling to give me anyone to call or talk to. I eventually found a number to call, the man who answered, Robert, told me he was the owner and that he would give me a refund, which I never received, even after several follow up phone calls to both he and Booking.com. I can't believe Booking.com represents this hotel! I will NEVER use Booking.com again!!! I will say that the room itself was fine, it seemed clean, although the view out the window was anything but pleasant, I would have been too frightened to ever open the window. Shower also had rusted parts. For $200 I was expecting a much much nicer room, in a safe building, in a better location.

Great value for money, stayed here on my own just for 1 night, would be better for couples looking to use the apartment more and spending more time in Inverness

Very handy location but opposite a noisy bar, with loud music and loud people, somebody in another apartment was showering and set the fire alarm off, whole place had to evacuate at 4am

The room was not clean, the walls were filthy, the faucets in the sinks overshoot the basins so water sprays all over the floor, there were literally spiders (3 different times) coming down from the ceiling over our bed and one of the toilets didn't even have a seat on it. Additionally the plugs near the bed were inaccessible behind the headboards and the curtain was broken and would not pin up. We contacted the facility after we left regarding these issues and never received a response.

Location and price reasonable

Very spacious 2 bedroom app. A few areas of dust collection. Side of bedside cabinets and under the sofas. I would use Waverley app again. Near to train and bus station.

It is handy for town

There is zero soundproofing from the street outside and you have 3 very noisy late night bars opposite the accommodation. The mattress was not just lumpy but wafer thin. The room is too hot not to have the window open but if you open the window you get even more noise from the street. The blinds don’t fully cover the window so you get day light into the room very early. The shower tray was leaking, the bedside lamps didn’t work the led lights in theme barely lit up, carpets were frayed and were trip hazards especially on the stairs, the UHT milk split when I used it to make a cup of tea so god knows how long it had been there for. I found what looked like spots of blood on one of the glasses in my room as you can see in the photos as well as what looked like finger marks of feces in the tube of the toilet roll. I am originally from Inverness and have been staying in various hotels and accommodations there now for the past 20 years and can honestly say it’s the worst place I have ever stayed. I wish I had just taken a tent and camped and I would have been more comfortable!
