Property Notes

When booking 6 rooms or more, different policies and additional supplements will apply. The property will contact the guest following their reservation. When travelling with a dog, please note that an extra charge of £25 for 1 dog or £40 for a maximum 2 dogs, per night applies. Dogs are allowed in designated guest rooms-please notify the hotel in advance- unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate dogs in our Sora Sky Bar. Please note our Sora Sky Bar is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There are limited onsite parking spaces available at the Hotel for £ 27.50 per night per car. Car parking must be booked in advance of your stay. Alternatively, there is an NCP car park on Tanner Row, just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel reception. Prices are approximately £40.00 for 24 hours. The Breakfast inclusive rates include a Full-cooked breakfast and Dinner inclusive rates includes 2 courses from our Seasonal A’ la Carte menu and a side dish. Supplements apply to certain items. Inclusions only apply to adults. Children’s Breakfast is not included in the advertised rates and the charges are as follows directly to the hotel: 0-4 years old – Breakfast Complimentary/5- 11 years old – Breakfast charged at 50% full price/ 12 and over breakfast charged at full adult price. Kids Dinner Menu is also available. Please note extra beds and cots must be confirmed with the hotel prior to arrival, customers will be required to settle children's extra bed charges (£30 per night) directly with the hotel. Starting 9th October 2024 our hotels will be cashless, please use cards or digital payments for transactions. A deposit may be required at the property.

"4 star prices, heavy on design but not comfort/enjoyment."

Would prefer to help myself from buffet as order was slow and not q right.

The bedroom looks great but hated no privacy when washing and the lighting was atrocious for getting ready. Very disappointed that rooftop bar was closed, downstairs bar uninspiring for 4 star hotel. No paper napkins, so toilet roll offered in thr bar. Bedroom coffee/tea offering v poor, 1 biscuit?

The room (Club twin) was spacious, clean and well positioned with views of the Minister and River. First impression of the decor was a little dark and dated - but it soon wore off when realising the comfortable beds and excellent facilities. The pillows aren't comfortable

"Fab hotel in York centre with lovely roof top bar and restaurant"

The Malmaison York is a fabulous hotel in the centre of York . Met with a warm welcome , lovely staff. Great rooms with comfortable beds . But the highlight being the rooftop bar, although it was raining the afternoon we arrived we still enjoyed sitting undercover on the roof top bar , cocktails were amazing. Did not get to try the rooftop Japanese restaurant this time as had booked elsewhere but definitely next time as menu in Sora looked fabulous .

the multi door that does toilet and bathroom is awful and does not shut properly. id just put a proper door on the bathroom , ok if with partner but I was with my friend.

Best location to visit York. Staff is very helpful and friendly. A front desk staff told us how to get to Castle Howard by bus, he even printed bus time schedule for us. Very grateful!

Breakfast can be more options.

Location

Roof top bar closed Monday!!! Didn’t know that in advance. Spa closed. Could not get a drink from the well stocked bar at 2245 on a Monday evening, shame we were having a family celebration.
