Abgelegen , für Ruhesuchende ideal. Das Haus hat „Wüstencharakter“, schön in die Umgebung eingebunden, wenig grün. Wunderbarer Sandstrand.

The setting of the place is gorgeous, situated between the mountains and the sea. The general aesthetic is also really nice. Staff are really friendly and the pool, beach and spa are incredibly well maintained. The beach itself is gorgeous.

The place could be better managed. The staff, whilst friendly, often seemed like they needed leadership or a senior staff member. The value for money isn’t quite there, especially when it comes to the restaurants. There aren’t many alternatives in the area which makes it really important for the restaurants to be good quality food. What you have instead is quite average food for high prices, and that’s before the 21% extra tax that gets put on top which includes a “municipality tax” and “tourism tax” both of which I’ve never heard of. The breakfast also is not that great, all the sweet items on the a la carte menu you can forget about cause they are all quite poor. Some of the egg dishes are decent but the quantity is small. On my final day I had the pastrami sandwich which featured 3 rather sad slices of pastrami and some lettuce in a bagel. Some of the room decor is quite tired and needs maintenance, our iron and ironing board were both broken, the terrace sofas were actually quite nasty and the plugs didn’t quite work. All of these are kinks that you expect when staying at any hotel, but a place that charges these kind of prices should really have all this worked out. Despite the excellent location, the wind is unbelievably strong and is quite disruptive. The hotel can’t really do anything about this but what they can do is improve the sealing around the room door so it doesn’t keep you up at night. Finally, probably the most important thing is the safety aspect. One of the activities is kayaking, and the gentleman in charge was really friendly and helpful. However, he wasnt present during the activity and we weren’t necessarily visible to him. At one point I actually got stuck and needed assistance, but he was nowhere to be seen. At that point it occurred to me that there was no lifeguard at the beach, nor at the pools. The pools are fairly shallow, but accidents can happen. Overall, a disappointment and I left feeling quite shortchanged.
